I for one am greatful that you've helped me out.
Its been very appriciated, and cant see it as being any different than trading with anyone else. :).

Oh no, I wasn't defending myself, i'm just saying AR codes aren't the devil.

I will agree, its annoying when people have codes such as 1 hit 1 kill, having pokemon learn any TM etc. But the other codes help out when you've beat the elite four and battle tower 2 or 3 times

Am i being dumb, or is there no direction on where to go or what to do after Gym 4?

Ideas?

Its slightly annoying having to swap Pokemon around for HMing, so im considering going back to my old plan of having some of my squad pokemon having HMs. Im considering giving Larvitar RockSmash & Luxio Strength.

Doh!
I was in a rush to go out before, quickly gave Luxio strength and went out.
Got in, realised i replaced 'Spark' and not 'Charge'!!!! :( :( :(
Luckily i have the shockwave TM to replace it with. Phew! lol.

There is a person in the town to the south on the game map who can replace moves that the pokemon can learn naturally, it needs a heart shard or something (you get it from going underground, its pretty rare but not extremely so).

So if you do mess up its not going to cost you

What are Ho-oh/Lugia?
Are they Diamond/Pearls equilivent to Mew/MewTwo?

Hooh and lugia were in ruby and sapphire, i 'think' they were in both versions
Hooh was one of the 3 legendary birds(articuno and zapdos were the other 2) and lugia was probably the equivalent of mewtwo from the original

? how do you mean? Replace the moves the pokemon can learn naturally.
I thought he aloud us to over-write HMs?

Ho-Oh was in Gold/Silver. you can also get it on FireRed/Leaf Green, but good luck to ya;

"Come down to the Pokémon Center at Nintendo World in Rockefeller Center this weekend, May 14th, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., and get the down low on the best download yet - we're setting sail for Navel Rock in Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen versions!

What is Navel Rock? It's a mysterious new area where you can catch Lugia or Ho-Oh, in Pokémon Emerald or Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. Detailed instructions can be found here on how to prepare for the Mystic Ticket. Once you've been prepared, bring your Pokémon GBA and either Pokémon Emerald, FireRed, or LeafGreen game pak and we'll load the ticket for you. Once you get the ticket, you can travel by ferry to navel Rock with your encounter with Lugia or Ho-Oh. "

yea and if you live anywehere in the world other than USA, how do they expect us to get tickets and gain access to this area?
?!?!?!!?

It annoys me when MS/Sony/Nintendo do that.

Just done Gym 5.
First go failed, 2nd go gave Luxray the dark glasses, and the only Pokemon out three i used that fainted was Pupitar. :p.

not bad, i found out that i am just before the 8th Gym in my game. i virtually NEVER EVER let me pokemons die, i mean faint, unless they get proper sereverly poisoned etc and i have no other choice.

i find my kadabra teleport move quite good (takes you to last PC Center to heal)

i also do a lot of bait and switch with my weaker pokemon, i.e put them out for one move and then bring in a powerhouse like Chimchar (well the uber evolved vers anyway) and try and finish the oppo in a move or two.

got my ase handed to me on silver platters onlineski with a player from these very forums however...

oh yea and im stuck on a frustrating sidequest before gym8 where i have to track down 3 ancient thingy's and catch them (they bleep on the radar tingy) but i cant even get close to them, they keep moving off before i can battle neermind catch em.

the person in canalave city can erase HM moves on pokemon. the person im talking about is another one which can allow you to relearn moves that the pokemon would learn naturally. this is useful in situations like yours where you got rid of a natural move that pokemon had and replaced it with another, if you have the required item you can relearn any of the pokemons original moves.

Just looked it up the 'move relearner' is in pastoria city

okay

has ANYONE found anything USEFUL in the digging in the wall thingy, a few scales which are too small and a few traps rgrggr but nowt much else?

is it worth me bothering?

You can get some evolution held items from digging afaik and also heart scales which can be used at the skill relearner which makes a pokemon relearn a previous move it forgot.

Edit- I think if you speak to X amount of people in sinnoh underground you unlock the pokemon called Spiritomb.

Edit2- hows your team shaping up Nickg, wifi ready yet?

heh its been a while since i played so when playing against someone with a slight inkling of strategy i am out of the game if i become stuck against a single pokedude, a happened last time.

im going to have to get back into it i just struggle for time lately to play enough to get familiar to build up a good squad,

as i say i can beat the cpu but it aint hard once you have a good fave "sweeper" type pokemon.

heh now wit my Ho-Oh, etc i might be though:):) but i need to get my Sapphire pokemons out, Raquaza, Rockimon trio or whatever theys called and my Kyogre!

might have time for some battles this evening however! if you go into the lower lobby in Pokecenter and linger around at about half 7-8 ill probably be around then

sounds like a team full of legendaries  . I ll try make the lobby, would be fun to have a few skirmishes with people here.

On another note I am looking for Palkia, Latias/Latios, 3 Legendary birds from FR/LG, 3 Legendary dogs from FR/LG and female dratini/dragonair/dragonite to add to my pokedex collection.

I have a few things to offer including all the obtainable diamond legendaries except Dialga, Garchomp/Tyranitar pre-evolves, Phiones (with hyro-rest move set  ) and Eevees.

Phew! Just scraped Gym 6 (Steel).
How hard is that Bastiodon to beat!?

Nothing i have seems to do much damage, apart from surf, and even thats not ideal. I had Gyrodos learn Ice Bite in place of Bite, hoping that it'd offer similar levels of damage, but more so against Steel Pokemon, practically no damage!

For future reference, whats best against Steel. I feel i have a big gap in my squad as far as power goes, as ive strugged against both Ghosts and Steel in the last 2 Gyms.

heh it would be but i dont have rayquaza or any others from my sapphire yet as i am not that far into the game itself, so im stuck wit the pokemon i have obtained ingame for Pkm Pearl, plus obviously Ho-Oh, but that is only lvl 20 anyhow!

i am still looking for a RED Gyrados and urm something else which i cant remember.

Water Electric and Fire against Steel
Surf did about 30% damage.
Shockwave did about 5-10%.
Fire did about 5-10%.

I need some good electric & fire TMs for Monferno & Luxray.
...and to get my hands on a bastiodon & Steelix. :p.

Where can i find that metal thing to make Onix evolve, and does anyone fancy trading with me for Onix+that metal thing, then Kadabra, then trading them back so i get my evolutions?

Isnt it fire,fighting and ground?

Problem with steel pokemon in general is their other type generally makes it impossible to get super effective attacks in, bronzor for instance with its normal ability is only vulnerable to fire(or ground if it has fire proof instead of levitate)
