Since they did a subscription version which has channel in the discerption. The URL is even called channel4plus. Its all a little more complicated these days as more and more places are doing online channels.
Have you heard of Amazon channels? They are sort of a hybrid between TV channels and the OnDemand Apps. You turn on your Fire TV, scroll to channel pick what you like for example ITV or Discovery and subscribe. You then get a section called channels which lists ITV or which ever channel you subscribe to, there are over 150 channels depending on where you live. You then get access to that channel at higher quality then the free OnDemand App and no Adverts. For example the ITV channel is basically the ITVhub OnDemand app only better and enhanced, its a hybrid between the free APP and TV channel. Prices range around £2.99 and £4.99 a month depending on channel.

Thanks to Amazon confusing matters its not a case anymore that any channel is considered live TV.
On these apps if you can go to a section called watch LIVE then you ARE watching live TV and there for need a license.

not sure if you are saying the payed ITV app has better PQ ? (1080 versus 720, like nowtv add-on, or higher bitrate) they don't seem to advertise that https://www.itv.com/hub/plus
... it would be surprising if a better quality itv was available exclusively in the amazon ecosystem too

It's saying on Amazon that it's available to stream and download in HD. The HD part is literally the only reason anyone would pay the subscription but to be honest it seems a bit pointless when you can just plug an aerial into the TV unless of course ITV was the only channel you watched and it meant not requiring a TV licence.

OK I see some amazon channels ITV programmes are listed as HD/1080 (eg no offence) but seems it is very limited, and a couple of examples from previous days don't have an option, so I'd assume SD

looks like amazon channels eurosport is SD though, where their standalone app is HD, still, when tour-de-france comes along it might be cheaper.

EDIT: The Horror - looks like amazon video calls both 720 & 1080 HD video, 480 & 360 is SD

Seriously, someone define 'fake' to me! It broadly has working services as seen when they fill a glass of water up from the tap.

Look, you are tricking me into admitting I watch East Enders and it is unfair.
:D The scenes 'inside' that you see in Eastenders are not filmed inside those buildings ...

Many of the fake ones are like 2ft wide. Just a wall with some windows and doors in it.

The rest are empty shells. The only thing inside are the walls holding it up.

A lot of the channels are not advertised as better PQ but once you subscribe you do get higher PQ at least on some of them. ITV I know is 1080p when subscribed on the amazon channel and is much better then the free ITVHub which was 720p max last time I used it. Not tried 4plus but I would expect it to be the same.
