There is nothing stopping you sharing between people in a household. You can do that. It's as soon as someone uses it outside the household is where the problem is.

They can't legit tell who is using the login and if it's genuine. Say I log in on PC on WiFi then switch over to Amazon Stick on WiFi then on Phone on 4G then laptop on parents WiFi. I can do this in a day sometimes. How are they going to tell between genuine and non genuine connections.

If they implement 2FA that would only mean the person who has the phone for 2FA will text the code to the other person. Over time people might just unsubscribe to streaming services that do this anyway.

Bit of a killer if that turns out to be required at every login, though? My brothers both live in different time zones to myself (and one another) for example...

e: just time to time, but if they are inspecting IP addresses could be more frequent ?

I doubt 2fa phone call to re-authenticate account owner will occur in the middle of a movie, your night, in a different timezone.

It wouldn't difer; if your brothers are in different time zones then clearly they aren't in your household and should have their own account.
Indeed i realise that clearly they should, as should your brother and M-I-L :p

I wonder how this will be implemented. It'll be a shame to lose this loophole.

What if that person from your holds hold has gone on holiday or works abroad.

There are so many reasons why it can still be legit.

Yes, but his brothers aren't on holiday and they aren't members of his household. For the purposes of this conversation we've decided to be actually honest. ;)

Absolutely, I haven't claimed otherwise. Like I say, if they enforced it with 2fa or whatever then I'd change my subscription as I don't need the 4 screens at once in my actual household. Like you, I'm not exceeding the amount of screens I pay for and Netflix have always been "unofficially" ok with that.

Haven't had a licence since leaving home at 24 (2009).

Never been registered as not needing one.

I had one visit when I was at work. The note was actually hand written. Not a fake hand written.
But other than that just the cycle of letters.

Kind of adds up when you think about it.
150 per year. I guess that's about 1.5k I certainly don't feel I have missed out. At start I did watch some stuff. And used Iplayer.

But now I genuinely do not even break the rules. Only watch c4 f1 highlights.
Netflix has solved my 'tv' needs

Lolwut?

You don't genuinely break the rules? Yet you watch the F1 highlights on channel 4?

Is that not breaking the rules? Any channel is considered live TV and therefore breaking the rules.

Unless you mean catch-up streaming which is different from channel 4 albeit provided by the same overall entity.

Long as you don't watch it at the time it's OK. Which is fine
