Here we go. "Sir/Madam" and no name on the address means it just a generic spam letter.

I feel insulted that they think they can just set deadlines and ultimatums for me. Obviously I'm not going to actually speak to them.
Let them conduct their interview outside your premises, they need your permission to enter the house.
Do not leave your door open so they can get a foot in.

However their next step maybe to get a court order for a warrant.

Only they cannot get a court order warrant unless they have reasonable evidence to be granted one which most likely they wont. Also they are not legally allowed to look at any password protected or locked devices which is worth knowing. Refusing entry to the premises is not enough of a reason for a warrant.

They can visit and look through the window, see a tv with sky etc fitted and have grounds to progress the case.
Keep the curtains closed when you're at work is a safe bet :D

And even if they get a warrant they still have to ask to be let in, so it's pointless.

I have a camera at the door looking down the driveway, which has a speaker on it. I wonder how long I can make them wait at the door :D

I have always done this regardless, i thought everyone did. I don't want to display my entire home cinema setup including the full array of consoles. I'd quickly be the target of burglars otherwise!

FWIW , and I'm someone who is on balance in favour of the licence fee, but who didn't have a TV for several years back when iplayer did not need a licence. The first year I opened each increasingly threatening letter. Nothing ever happened. Once the cycle of letters restarted I took a different approach: Every TV licensing letter I received I returned to sender unopened with "N/A return to sender" scrawled across the envelope address. Still nothing ever happened. I really wasn't fussed. If they turned up they would find no TV. Simples. But they never did turn up! Even after threatening visits. It all seemed rather pointless. I gather I could have contacted them but where's the fun in that. Plus I never knew if someone would take the spare room and bring a TV. By saying nothing I never made, nor could be accused of making, a false declaration.

These days I have a TV and watch iplayer so I'm happy paying the licence fee, kind of, though it has to be said the quality of the BBC is going down the toilet, and has been for some time, since the Tories started really leaning on them tbh. It's still just about worth it for me just for ad-free radio. Commerical radio like talk sport etc is so annoying by comparison.

bbc, netflix, disney ... it's a race to the bottom.

so that's why the neighbours have net curtains or the recent shutter trend .... they have all modified their lives so no one can see them watching the BBC,
these people need help
e: the love island final is on this evening ... sounds like a honey trap

I love to be an anarchist too, and winding them up with their threats of letters and visits that I honestly wanted to film on my doorstep by way of Mexican stand-off stuff and show on Youtube ... I yearned for that excitement for years in my life and it never happened?
After years of that finally never happening I went online, and told them I don't need a licence for what I do and shortly got a reply back saying things like, we wont bug you for ages anymore... or words to that effect. And yes I know its a sort of blackmail and they might hassle me again in years to come, but for me in my elderly years but still compet mentus years and getting sick tired of sweeping up their constant black mail and bullying letters, it was the best way out.

At least in the short term.

Honestly my real letter box has halfed in volume spam since I found out how to stop these BBC fools from wasting paper at my address.

Agree though with most things written here ... I hate the BBC and all they stand for these days inc the TV Licensing fiasco, perhaps part of the best fight against them is to just go online and say, thanks but no thanks, we don't need or use your services anymore, please stop spamming me ... maybe then they will finally get the message?

I'm not getting it :p

Am I missing something grammatically here?

Never ever ask him a question because he won't reply and he'll say you are bullying or name calling him.
He thinks he is the only one that is asked for evidence/links/reports etc and nobody else is ever asked.
He has ruined so many threads by posting complete nonsense and won't explain his reasoning.
He also thinks me. Pottsey and Sidimu are the same person :)
I don't know why the Mods are putting up with him to be honest.

Tin foil hat on here but what if the mods do this to stop threads they don't like.....

nothings for free

BBC licence fee could rise by £13 next year with the Government under pressure to intervene

The OBR has forecast an 8.2pc uplift from £159 to £172 with ministers facing increasing calls to cancel the inflation-linked increase

and disney seems to be outgrowing netflix despite their price rises in the usa (for now?) maybe that's their family products.
About 94% of subscribers to the old, ad-free Disney+ service stayed with the product at a higher price point and swallowed the $3 a month price increase, according to new data from subscription-analytics firm Antenna.

I've not had a TV license for over 10 years (since I moved out) as I don't need one and never had any issues as I submit something online every few years declaring such.
