All you do is cause yourself a headache, stress and more cost than just paying it.I'm happy to take it that far

Which is your right but they can just take the money / your assets to cover the fee there is no way to withhold council tax other than to make yourself homeless and go live in a tent / car / sofa surf.I'm happy to take it that far
We shall see i guess.Which is your right but they can just take the money / your assets to cover the fee there is no way to withhold council tax other than to make yourself homeless and go live in a tent / car / sofa surf.
This. You can't force people to pay for something they don't want/need.
God forbid someone have a back bone against blatant tyranny. All you do is cause yourself a headache, stress and more cost than just paying it.
And that’s precisely why they get away with it.All you do is cause yourself a headache, stress and more cost than just paying it.

God forbid someone have a back bone against blatant tyranny.
You can have backbone, you'll just have CCJs as well, and if you still refuse to pay it gets much worse for you.God forbid someone have a back bone against blatant tyranny.
Doesn't matter if you have a backbone or are made of jelly when they can walk through your front door and take your assets to cover the CCJ.Ask your doctor to prescribe a backbone.
Yes, obviously.Doesn't matter if you have a backbone or are made of jelly when they can walk through your front door and take your assets to cover the CCJ.
If / when it ever happens I'm sure people will be writing to their MP's, outrage will be expressed in the press and there will be change.org motions demanding it be debated in parliment and repealed.Yes, obviously.
The point was more that people need to show some resistance to it rather than taking it up the backside unlubed, then complaining about it afterwards.
We aren't France I can't see people rioting in the streets for £200 either; a few days off work without pay for court appearances would cancel out any savings even if the court said you didn’t have to pay which they won't...You never know the opponents in here might be lucky and get a poll tax moment but I doubt it.
People like us that don't use the BBC are a minority the rest still want their fix of Eastenders, Strictly and the Archers those people won't be going on protest marches. If they can wangle the TV tax into council tax then what else can they put in there and where does it stop, this has to be a line in the sand for everybody.

jk btw, not deliberately being rude![]()
Doesn't eastenders and the like only get around 5 million viewers nowadays, I don't think we are the minority at all and I think if all the fence sitters could actually work with us they would walk back ideas like this.We aren't France I can't see people rioting in the streets for £200 either; a few days off work without pay for court appearances would cancel out any savings even if the court said you didn’t have to pay which they won't...
It being applied like the poll tax instead of per household would be a fairer way of charging for it should it ever happen.

5 million Eastenders, 6.4 million Strictly, 31m weekly radio, people aren't happy with the price increases but it would actually drop initially if they made every adult pay aka poll tax or just stopped people from opting out.Doesn't eastenders and the like only get around 5 million viewers nowadays, I don't think we are the minority at all and I think if all the fence sitters could actually work with us they would walk back ideas like this.
