Two Worlds 2!

Is this actualy coming out? It has been canned in Australia, and removed from quite a few websites in the UK!

Can someone fill me in regarding this 'main island'? If it is not explorable in single player - why include it at all?
Because it is where the multiplayer action will take place. If the developer had made it a downloadable add-on for multiplayer (like most other games have multiplayer only levels/maps) then everybody would have been happy but as it was included in the single player game (but not explorable) everybody has been up in arms feeling that they have been cheated.
I have not problem with this and the game is big enough with the islands you can explore.

I'm really enjoying this, partly because of the things you come across, shopkeepers go home at night, you get to have sex but not as much as the Witcher, NPC's do 'odd' things I caught one guy having a wee against a wall and some NPC's get really stroppy if you bump into them.

Weapon and armour upgrades are good with the added bonus of being able to dismantle any item and use the parts to upgrade existing equipment - Still on my first suit of armour just keep upgrading it. I haven't got the hang of spells yet but that might be something for a replay as a wizard.

Monster progression is quite good, just ahead of the character progression which keeps you on your toes. Quests have so far been OK with no broken ones. I've had a couple of black screen lock ups but the automatic save means I haven't lost too much.

Graphics are very good, especially the DX10 ones.

The allegations against Topware are numerous, so it would be best to simply list them. The following is a rundown of the various stories we have uncovered over the past few days; do bear in mind that these are allegations.

* European reviewers have accepted ad buys from Topware in exchange for favorable reviews.
* Topware was caught by IGN attempting to influence the rating score of IGN's GameStats and inflating Two Worlds II's ranking.
* GameReactor was pressured to take down its Two Worlds II review because it used preview code to write it. The rub is that more favorable reviews released at the same time as GameReactor's were not asked to remove their reviews, despite being based on the same code.
* Topware employees have been writing Amazon reviews, posting YouTube comments, and posing elsewhere as members of the public to generate positive feedback on its own products.
* Threats of legal action against one reviewer were made without the permission of management, and rest entirely on the head of the PR department. A reviewer was accused of pirating a copy of Two Worlds II for his negative review, despite having been sent code.
* Destructoid itself was planned to be approached with a bribe. Topware paid for a Two Worlds II site skin, but withheld half the pay. The other half was allegedly planned to be paid in exchange for an 8.5/10 review from us.

That sounds dodgy Neil to me, I found the reviews terrible actually. IGN is a terrible site to start with.

Allegations sounds about the right word, if not bull imo.

Two Worlds 2 is the most underrated game I have EVER played.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised if EA/Bioware bribed them lol the software house that created TW2 is certainly not rich.

A post on Destructoid reports on accusations that TopWare threatened UK outlets with blacklisting over negative reviews of Two Worlds II, describing one instance where they pushed for score to be bumped up to 7/10. There's a follow-up on BeefJack where a TopWare rep explains that this is "all quite blown out of proportion," as it was a dispute over scoring systems, saying: "This is untrue, the only thing that was said is that a 7 is average in public eye and not a 5 – their scoring system is their scoring system and that is that. They are not blacklisted and no one asked them to increase their score.

" Big Download notes that TopWare's U.S. marketing head James Seaman made several comments in the Destructoid forums about this, including this: "My team needs to take a step back as the UK has been pretty harsh on our game, but such is life. I will make sure that nothing like this ever happens again, but some of my guys have put their heart and soul into this game and just need to take a step back." Moving forward, he also reveals that in spite of all this, they are working on the next Two Worlds game for release next year: "We are trying to do a better job every time and have brought in a brand new 3D modeling, animation and CG team for the next Two Worlds game coming out in 2012."

Read that one, certainly some form of arguing going on between the two.

Indeed, and for anyone who has played more than 5hours of the game will realizre that this smallish development team have certainly put their heart and soul into the game, when you compare it to the first one.

If they focus on the PC to console route, and don't divert like Bioware then 2012 cannot come soon enough.
