Type R and VTEC owners

I know the road (and corner) quite well. He went into it way too fast, hence no grip when he turned in, and because he just seemed to lift off and brake, he had no chance of making it round.

No, not sad at all! I read the owners manual and varying magazine reviews 100's of times when I ordered mine brand new circa 2004. I still have the same one kicking about somewhere at home!

I also think you won't like the Focus as much. The economy is terrible and it feels like a boat to drive at times.

As above, I'd definitely look into K100.

It's a Type R you fanny's, if you want a comfortable cruiser with a long top gear go and buy a German hot hatch. Try driving a DC2 at motorway speeds, you'll soon wish you were back in an EP3.

I don't want a German hot hatch, I want a Type R that has sensible gearing in 6th. What's wrong with making it more pleasant and economic driving on a motorway without spoiling it when driving around B roads?
You won't get that on a Type R, simple as. Unless of course Honda change their philosophy.

Back from a long weekend at Spa. The ATR didn't miss a beat, except almost getting stuck in the camp site. Damn you performance tyres combined with mud and a hill.

I really hope the new Civic Type R is a great car, although I expect the price tag to remain astronomically high. I paid £17k for my first Type R in 2004, seems you have to pay near to £26k to tick all the options on the latest hot hatches which is ridiculous. For that money I'd be looking at something that's not FWD and have 'Civic' on the boot.
