Type R and VTEC owners

Been speaking to a guy on the accordr forums who's selling his 107k ATR. It's a prefacelift, he's said £2300, does that seem a fair price. He did modify it but has it back to close as standard, all be it with a decat/exhaust system/induction filter. I don't think he has FSH but has receipts for work such as gear syncro/egr clean/valve clearance, and some other stuff.

What's it worth?

Less than £2300 without a full folder IMO. Can't you just wait till March?

Staff car park? Some prat almost went into me on a roundabout on the way home. Clearly cutting across their blind spot. I looked over and all windows bar the front were covered in snow. Luckily there was room to manoeuvre out of their way.

There are some proper morons on the road. Outside of my flat window I can see a pretty busy road with traffic calming, the type where half the road is blocked. Thing is, Watford council are idiots, they have put the most ridiculous calming measures around here. This one is on a blind bend, genius idea! Anyway I've seen 1 head on so far at slow speed and another where a BMW ended up sideways going round it and someone went into the side of him.

2000. So a pre-facelift, with the less road tax. Not much optional extras, I'm not fussed about those. It's the drive which matters.

Yes they are, mine pulls very hard in VTEC. I have a question though I'm concerned about a noise mine makes as I lift off the accelerator. It's like a brrrrr kind of noise, closest I can explain it. Sounds like it's coming from the front of the car and does it in every gear past 3k rpm. I asked the owner and he said it's the LSD since it's cold.

It's had the gearbox syncros done back in 2010 by VTEC Direct, so I'm quite worried that the box may go out again.

How much did you pay and what mileage etc? Noise sounds weird, mine makes none off throttle at all. Get the gearbox oil changed first and see if it changes. Could also be an engine mount.

What's the consensus on the Accord 2.4 Type S?

I'm looking for a relatively cheap runaround of this ilk (3 series, A4, Mondeo etc) and although a friend had one which I liked, he didn't have it all that long so I don't know much about reliability/running costs.

It's a Honda, it'll be reliable. A mate had one, said it was pretty thirsty.

Two new tyres coming, so the lucky new owner of my Accord won't have to worry about tyres for a while!

As much as I like Evo's, I keep looking at FD2's.

I know, but I need boost in my life first. I guess when the time comes it's whichever car is closer/looks better as I'll be wanting to spend the money. :)

I'd put different coilovers on it, AST come highly regarded but I may look at a set of Ohlins or Zeal, something of that ilk. I'd mod the FD2 to around 250 hp with full exhaust, intake and Hondata. Evo would have the usual remap and few bits to make it 400 or close to. Thing is I'm not sure either would end up being my daily, may buy a separate commuter. All depends if my GF moves with me or keeps her job in London I guess.

I've seen and had a play with both. The Gruppe M is in a different league. It's like buying a Tag versus getting a fake. Sure, the fake tells the time, but it's never a Tag.
