Type R and VTEC owners

ATR is a great car. Once you learn how quick it can go through bends you will love it. The chassis is fantastic, and it responds very well to trail braking.

So no more than a £300 service at a reputable dealer/independent. Other two are oil changes, can be done for £100 at a garage, or £60 yourself.

No, they are a premium tyre. Ignore the haters, Potenza's suit the Type R's best due to their stiff sidewalls. Other tyres such as the GSD3 may match/beat them in terms of grip, but they lack feel on Type R's due to their somewhat softer sidewalls.

2.0 l turbo with VTEC is my bet, pushing 300bhp +. Expect £26k + price tag, if not more IMO. Which makes it pointless.

I paid £17,500 IRRC for my first EP3, brand new.

Maybe you didn't drive it as an Evo is meant to be driven, or it had worn suspension and crud tyres on, because they are far from dull to drive.

Or you're just weird.

Turbo will be laggy below 3k rpm on the IX but MIVEC helps a lot, can't remember how the VIII is. You do have to keep them on boil though, but much easier to do IMO than a Type R as you don't have to be above 5-6k rpm. As long as you are above 3k in a IX you will barely notice any lag. But, I do admit, there is something addictive about pressing the throttle and there being instant power RPM dependant rather than that split second pause.
