Type R and VTEC owners

My second ATR had a different tyre on each corner. It pulled left, then right, it was pretty dangerous to drive I'd say. I had to drive it to Brum and back and I distinctly remember it being a hellish journey, as it was raining and the car simply didn't feel planted or that safe. Shortly after I fitted RE002's all round and it transformed the car (as I knew it would).

I know I in particular harp on about running decent tyres, but it really does make a huge difference. I can only jump to conclusions but I guess the OP had mismatching tyres on, it was raining, he was tired, the car started understeering and perhaps he lifted off the throttle. In an EP3 that can sometimes be enough to lose traction across all 4 wheels especially in the rain and with poor tyres.

DC2 is the better drive but the EP3 is easier to deal with on a daily basis.

DC2's rot on the rear arches and it can be a major headache if untreated.

Work looks fine but can't tell from the low IQ photo's. But why not replace the Type R stickers, always seems an odd move to me.

Part cost difference between the DC2 and EP3 will be minimal.

I wouldn't bother with FI on the K20, the rods are thin, very thin! Yes people do it and people get away with it but I'd be extremely hesitant. If you want boost, get a car that has boost in the first place.

Sounds like a catastrophic failure of something to lead to that consumption considering the work on the engine. Sump plus/oil filter in place?

How bad is the insurance rapage on another modified sports car after 2 claims?

I pay £750 for the Evo.

6 points, 3 from 2009, 3 from 2010, one speeding, one mobile phone.
1 total loss claim April 2009 so 2 years NCB.
That's with my girlfriend as a named driver though.

I use Millers CFS NT in my Evo now, can't complain and it comes highly rated from what I understand.

I have driven an Ep3, it doesn't seem as sharp as the ATR. It's liveable though. I just want a newer VTEC, I wouldn't mind another ATR, but they're getting on now and I'd like something a little newer. EP3 seems fine for what will be as a little weekend toy.

EDIT: Your ATR was on the bay a couple weeks back. I was going to take a look at it but something came up. After much thinking I decided that it wasn't good to go with my heart again.

The silver one?

Aye, as a weekend car the EP3 does all right.

The guy I sold it to sold it on, the next owner PM'd me on the ATR forum asking about a gearbox oil leak. Was fine AFAIK when I sold it and said as much. Not sure what's happened to it since then.
