Type R and VTEC owners

Really tempted by a DC2 but Muffins big engine thread has put me off somewhat.

Unless I could K20 it or even better buy one already done.

Is there anything needed fabricating for the conversion? If I supplied a garage with a written off EP3 would it be just a labour job?

K20 leaves the sump low which may cause issues if you lower the car.

I wouldn't worry about the B18, keep it topped up with oil, don't over rev and don't boost it to stupid PSI and it won't blow up.

Everyone has their favorite mapper and reasons for choosing. Steve Mason (Mase) has turned a few of my friends Honda builds around, correcting maps by UK tuners that weren't so good. My Evo had a map on from a reputable UK tuner and I wasn't happy so I took it to Mase and watched him work. The car made +50 or so BHP in the middle of the rev range, and I think 410 at the fly compared to 370 before peak power. The car came on boost cleaner, quicker and better than before, idles nicer and it felt like an OEM tuned map.

I know most will say there isn't much point in mapping standard cars, but from what I have read, Honda have done a pretty decent job of the standard S2000 intake and exhaust and there aren't many great gains to be had by putting on £800 JDM items. All I'm looking for is an improvement in the middle of the band and maybe better MPG. We shall see how the tune goes as it progresses.

Will's paintshop I'm guessing?

The area where the car is is mainly used for storage and race car prep. The ramp the car is on in the picture is the geo ramp.

Sorry if I have missed it but what's going on with the car? A check and tidy up because its new to you?

Just having some bits painted to tidy the car up. It's been parked at the side of the road in London and has some scuffs on. All taken into the price I paid. It should be near immaculate all round when I get it back.

I had Eibach springs on my DC5 and Evo IX, never had an issue with them. They are also one of the most popular choices for Honda owners due to their quality and the handling improvements they offer over standard springs.

I've got it back from TGM. I've really missed driving it, the trip back was awesome in this sunshine. Tom's checked everything on the car and no issues at all, all the suspension bushes aren't seized. He's fitted Eibach springs and given it a FRSU, the car really feels planted in the corners now. Will's also refurb'd the wheels and it's had some paint on the car as well. I'm very happy with the results, especially the slightly darker choice for the wheel colour.

I've also got a Flashpro from Mase on the way, that can't come soon enough.

The small marks you can see are either bugs from the drive home or dust from the paint shop. The finish is fantastic.

I think they're great. Who says otherwise? I'd rather have Eibach springs on stock dampers than most of the rubbish coilovers people seem to rave about. Meister R springs to mind instantly.
