Type R and VTEC owners

There is a minor bit of pp going on in the photo so it makes the blue a little deeper than what it is.

The colour on the wheels is some Nissan colour. I can get the paint code if required? It was me, Des and Will from TGM stood in the yard with some paint cards holding them against the wheels. Complete guess to be honest, but I couldn't be happier with the final result.

First day in the Accord today to work and back. Got 47 mpg which is much better than the Audi and on par with my old 100ps Mk 1 Focus. That was doing 60-70 on a/b roads and a few overtakes. I think stuck at 50 in 6th would give closer to 50mpg.

Super comfortable as well and handles great (for a diesel barge).

Is that measuring at the pump or going off the computer? The above is off the computer.

I don't think I'll be able to get over 50 due to the nature of the roads to work and back (few towns, lots of bends, varying speed etc).

Thirds interview for the new job on Thursday, so it may not be around for much longer.

On a more petrol head note, took the S2000 out yesterday for a while, loved it. :D

Paid $130 or so for an iPod kit.

Only to find out the Accord plays it straight from the USB port without need for said kit. Doh.

Luckily I have managed to return it.

My driver side rear brake caliper is seized on my S2000. For those who have dealt with this before is there any value in stripping and regressing the slidey bits (technical term) or is that always just a short term fix and it's better just to get a new caliper? Is replacing the caliper DIYable for someone with very little experience?

Just get a new (refurbished) one. The rear caliper on my DC2 was sticking, I think I spent about £50 in fuel/parts/labour to be told it can't be rescued. Then paid around £90 for a replacement. I won't be doing that again.

I've read somewhere that Honda are saying it's going to be faster than the NSX Type R around the 'ring.

Sorry, but who cares? I'd have the NSX any day of the week. Cars are not about lap times, they're about being great to drive and I hope the new CTR is just that. Just can't help but think that they've become too obsessed with making it go round a track quickly which doesn't always translate into being a great every day road car.

I haven't, but, I've spent a significant amount of time in the non Type R and I am good friends with the (now ex) owner. I've also been out in the facelift Type R a few times. There's a lot you can tell about a car from the passenger seat IMO but of course nothing comes close to the real thing.

Second tank just over 48 mpg, measured using an app from fill to fill. OBC said 45.5 I think. It was pretty much just work and back, so a straight 80 miles a day. I've put BP Ultimate diesel in it now to see if it makes any difference at all.

What would you guys recommend for tyres (EP3)?

Probably have to buy a couple soon. Normally I just stick with the Potenzas but they're a bit pricey and I hardly do any miles/don't drive like an idiot (that often :)).
F1A2 for every day use. If you want something a little sportier then AD08R's.
