Type R and VTEC owners

I'm a complete Honda fan, but nothing would sway me to get the new Type R if it's anything like what the spy photo's look like. Even the Kia Cee'd GT thing or whatever it's called looks better.

Just a heads up that he normally books up months in advance for weekend dates. Had to wait 2 months with a leaky roof for mine to be done.

He has his bad reviews but also has his good ones, seemed a decent guy but very much a case of leave car with him and leave him to it was the impression I got. Didn't bother me as went for a wander & had a nice lunch etc :)

How far is he from the Cinema? I forgot to get in touch, will try and remember to do it later.

I'm sorry to say, but if it is the timing chain that's caused the damage, which given the K20, it is entirely possible, then I don't see how the garage could be responsible. :(

Again that's their word. Garages do lie so I need some hard proof. I'll have to wait till Monday to hear back from Honda.
I mean Honda.

However I think you have certain statutory rights with regards to the garage that sold you the car, the fact it's had an issue so close to purchase would make me want to look into my options.

What is the issue with timing chains? 'Stretching' (aka wear)

Yes stretching, IIRC from around 80-100k mileage is the worry area, it is more common in cars that have had less oil changes or run low on oil.

There is a pic somewhere, I think on here, of the new vs the old, there is quite a bit of difference in length.

Getting a new roof at the end of March, it's being fitted by Jack in Swansea, I will report back with pics when done.

I need to get round to booking both cars in at Honda actually as services are due soon. The Accord in 3000 miles and with doing ~850 a week that won't take long to get to, and the S2000 in April, but I need to work out exactly what it needs. It had an oil change about 1000 miles ago when the exhaust was fitted and the expensive service was done last April so I need to read up on the servicing schedule for them.

1000mle + 'soon' before a service where you want to keep FHSH and so they will change the oil again?

What's the problem exactly? It wasn't marked in the service book, I just had an invoice from PA who did the work.

All I did over the summer was drive the car hard, I wanted fresh oil in it for the winter. I've done less miles in it due to my work situation than I expected to do. Again I don't see the issue?

No issue. Just seems odd you are worrying about servicing it properly according to Honda schedule then just doing a random oil change.

No problem but then you are indicating many times your quite indecisive. Jack in Swansea is now ok for your roof.

You havent even said which service is due (milage/age?)

I don't see the point in paying just under £1000 when I can get it done for just over £300 (including fuel etc). Having read into it I have seen as many bad reviews about monsoon as I have Jack.

Either way my roof needs changing, so I'll take my chances.

I need to check my service book/folder when home.

I think in April 2013 it had the spark plug service.
Then April 2014 the one after (obviously).
So I think it needs a tappet service none spark plug.
