Type R and VTEC owners

Does it make much difference with the remap?

am I right that it reduces the amount of revs needed before Vtec engages?

Yeah huge difference, I just had mine done just last week.

Improved MPG
The RPM VTEC comes in can vary on engine/mods etc but it's generally around 3800-4000rpm.

Mine comes in at 3900 with heavy acceleration / foot flat to floor or around 5400 if it's just normal acceleration.
Rev limiter is raised too, mine is 8600 now.

Other features included are downshift blipping, adjustable launch control and adjustable maps. But these are really quite unnecessary unless you're doing track days tbh.

With it being a new (to you) car then I wouldn't imagine it by high up on the list of things to do, but definitely worth considering!

Can't see how downshift blipping of launch control are beneficial to track day driving?
Blip your own throttle, if you want a computer to drive then might as well stay home and play Forza.
There is no situation where you would launch the car from a standing start.

I almost always rev-match for smoothness, even on daily driving.

I do use footwork and I might get it disabled next time I'm up at TDI unless it proves it's worth on the trackday I'm doing Friday - it doesn't activate unless at high revs and I'm not the kind to race about the streets at 7000rpm downshifting for corners..

But having the ECU get it right every time with no need to dance the feet isn't really an issue is it?

Launch control - agreed, especially in a "slow" 200hp Civic - though I do go to a trackday at a sprint course occasionally so it will be used.
In my old 400hp Impreza on the otherhand.. Great fun :D

Though I suppose the launch control would appeal more to the barrys that often go for GP Traffic light launches against the car next to them innit m8

Blipping is easy when you're decelerating but not braking, heel toe takes some practice. I can't do it yet.

You crashed a Polo, I'd leave heel toe for when you have more experience!

That was a long time ago now, maybe ive learned a bit since then eh?

They say you become a better driver after having a crash... :)

Tuning over the next couple of days!

Car went on the dyno - was getting loads of belt slip as the tensioning system was crap. They are fabricating something in the shop now. It made 450 @ the wheels at 16psi after they had to pull a load of timing due to pinking. This was at 8000rpm. At 9000 should make 17psi hopefully.

I've ordered the AEM Meth/water injection kit to plumb into the intake pipe which should lower the IATs and allow some safety margin.

Results to follow next week!

Talking about Supercharged S2000's my supercharger finally arrived today from japan after a long 2month wait.

Starting the build this sunday. If anyone is interested i can post a few picks along the way and the dyno run?

Anyone used 10K Racing in Leicester for tuning/mapping?

Thinking of getting Hondata S300/P28 ECU installed on my Accord Type R and getting them to map it.
