@nicholas_yiu god damnthis must have been BAD DIY Job.
I agree the fake spoiler does look quite nice from a distance, but it is properly heavy and the paint is not good. Maybe the real one is lighter but just not woth putting one on a run around.
It is surprising how cheap these are at the moment, my old colleague just sold a 1 owner car with 220k in pretty good condition for £2k.
Another of my old colleagues is selling a red (not pink) one in mint condition also for £4.5k but I got sucked in by the colour and LSD so went for the cat s one instead. My DC2 is also CW so I just can't help it.
HI there
S2000 owners who used Ohlins, what preload did you set your springs too please?
I have 10k front and 8k rear Ohlins springs, the manual states 1mm front and 10mm rear but nowhere in the manual is it stating what spring rates those preload settings are for.
Preload is ride height. Pre-loading a un constrained spring doesn't exist.
you cant compress a spring unless the damper is maxed out.
Mine was set as per ohlins manual. Height dropped by 25mm or so using the height adjuster..HI there

The preload is as per the diagram, for preload only not height... That's how old/cheap coilovers used to adjust. Most coils start at 0preload and work from there kinda thing. I run 0 for e.g. on my hsd coilovers on the crown
Spring rate of course doesn't change with more preload as those are linear spirits as Simon said..
The 0/10mm preload is literally there to "seat" the spring in most cases. You only really adjust it if you know what you're doing.
I'd just follow the manual. Afaik they all come 10/8kg for s2k.
Heard people say 10/10 is better but that's probably chasing % on track.
I think that's the safest approach. The new kits are 11l/7kg now and manual is for that, I opted for the 10/8kg setup as the majority feels it is better, I found the manual online for 10/8 also, but will just set it as per current manual then, just found lots of USA guys seemingly changing from the factory rear preload of 9-10mm as per manual suggest to 15-25mm range to stop riding on bump stops but maybe that is because US guys are slamming their cars or something.
The factory drop is 25mm which I will just go with that along with other factory settings and if it is too low I can just raise it up a few mm.
I think that's the safest approach.
set it up as per manual and dial in from there I can't remember what I set my rebound to now, think it was just midway and it drives great for my liking.
I do have a few other mods on mine like wider track, rack spacers etc all those come together.
I don't remember my FN2 being particularly different to any other front wheel drive car in the snow. It will just depend on what tyres you have on it really.Just looking to join the fn2 club. My Focus Zetec S injector has gone 7 weeks before MOT due, so may be a good time to buy.
How do they fair in the snow? Is it the same as any front wheel drive car?
One thing I’m really stuck on is the colour.
Always loved the Milano Red and looks really sporty.
However have the chance to buy a Blue one. I’m trying to love it as much, but unsure if it will feel the same.
Has anyone seen the Blue in person to know how it looks?
I know it’s the rarer colour choice, so may hold value better.
Plus heard of Milano Pink and wondered if the blue would be less maintenance.
Anyhow, hope you are all well and hope to join the club real soon. Once I’ve decided on colour and can get a decent mileage example.
