Types of music that you hate

"Indie" cant stand the stuff.

Like...

Razorlight
The ****

I did asterisks because there's so many boring strummy guitar bands that start with "the"

Totally agree.. strumming.. strum strum strum strum (ultra high warp speed)

Lol.. although some of them are good and i love some indie bands... but indie is becoming increasingly poppy and too samey...saturated i mean

In most music genres I will always find a song I like.

On the whole though I really dislike r'n'b for its monotonous and droll sound,

I also dislike the whole emo scene for bascially turning a well written and heart felt song, piece of poetry or quotation into something thats labelled as 'emo', even some of Ghandi's quotes get labelled as emo ffs

I cant get this "emo" thing...

Some people say emo = emotional..

I always say all music is emotive... then all music being "emo"

Think its not even a genre its just pop/punk/alternative/metal type music really

say what? what i say? :)

I only say it when people describe emo as emotional music...
Thats my point. People who say that (which we have deduced isn't you) are wrong. But you could do no harm gettin' it wiki'd anyway!

I don't have any type of music I can't stand, all music has its place, just sometimes that place is nowhere near me. ;) I can think of good songs/artists in most genres of music I've ever heard so I don't really believe that any are intrinsically bad, just that some have more than their fair share of rubbish. :)

Wouldn't say I hate any genre. I have yet to hear a single country song that I really liked and I am currently going through a phase where I never seem to be in the mood for extreme death/black metal (I know what death metal and black metal are before one of the resident metal snobs starts flirting with me), other metal genres are still awesome.

Some indie isn't all that bad imo like Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand but it has become oversaturated with a load of bands that are no better than mediocre. It always happens when a certain genre becomes popular.

I also can't stand people who judge music on the people who listen to it (and vice-versa). Why should I care if some chavs like Cascada or if many MCR fans are emos? It won't stop me listening to both

Rap, Jazz, Classical, Opera, lots of female vocalists like Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Madonna, Kylie Minogue.

Don't forget that French/Canadian horsey looking one that wailed through Titanic.
Give me a gun.

Mostly things like rap/R'n'B/Hip-Hop/Funk and so on ... just plain hate the stuff

Am an alt/rock guy personally although will happily listen to Frank Sinatra or some classical for instance anytime :)

I really don't like, pop, trance/dance or whatever it's called, reggae, soul, hip hop, rap, operatic, boy/girl band, soft guitar music (Muse, McFly etc) and plenty more, but not being "with it" I don't know what it's called.

LONG LIVE ROCK AND METAL!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I was waiting for someone to type all that out so I didn't have to! So thank you :D although I find Muse quite acceptable and wouldn't class them as soft guitar music in the least (although I did think that before I saw them live).

Without breaking it down too much (I hate the genre police who go around saying "that's not metal! it's nu-metal!!!"), in general I'm not very fond of the below:

Hip-Hop
Drum'n'Bass
Hard House (i.e. very heavy and fast, similar to the above)
Country
Boy Bands (they do the odd good song but I couldn't listen to a whole album)

R n B
Pretty much all Rap
Dance - Trance, House etc I hate all of it to be honest
Pretty much all pop music
Indie (especially all these awful new bands like the killers, razorlight etc)
Opera

Im fairly open, music that in GENERAL tends to annoy me is the metal with screamed lyrics (as often I enjoy the music underneath, but the screaming just gets to me - for this reason Im really enjoying Stone Sour as its a nice balance of vocals), pop (where theres usually obviously no skill involved) a lot of indie, as I just find it bland, and drum'n'bass, rap etc.

Im more of a metalhead than anything else though, although I listen to everything from Metallica to Phil Collins to Within Temptation to Dragonforce.
