Types of music that you hate

Slipknot is generally categorised as Nu-Metal, which isn't an accepted form of metal.

This thread has shown an interesting thing though, that a lot of people think they know what death metal is when that's not the case. No-one has mentioned a death metal band so far.

It doesn't really matter though, it's all dislikeable if you dislike it!

EDIT - Amon Amarth.. now that's more like it :p

slipknot? nu-metal? complete horlicks.

aside from the fact that their first album had incubus-style funk guitars, the second (self-titled) album was death-metal-by-the-numbers-with-bleepy-bits.

do you even know what nu-metal is?

woody - at the gates were closer to thrash than death.

heavy/death metal, garage, emo music and any music which has a guy screamin DEATH in a song for 5 minutes.

Dont see how people cannot like Hardcore, go to a big rave and i promise you, you will come out smiling thinking 'Damn that was amazing' :)

R n' B is just plain awful. Same goes for cheesy pop and Indie stuff. Dance music is crap for the most part also.

Gangster Rap - 50 Cent, Eminem, all that rubbish! They live in multi-million doller houses, yet they call themselfs thugs and gangsters!?

do you still hate the original gangsta rap, people like NWA , who actually rapped about true events

didnt just make it up like todays mainstream "gangsta rappers" do

Country Music, Nu Metal, 'Emo' and a lot of R'N'B and recent 'rap' can all burn in musical hell!

I really don't like, pop, trance/dance or whatever it's called, reggae, soul, hip hop, rap, operatic, boy/girl band, soft guitar music (Muse, McFly etc) and plenty more, but not being "with it" I don't know what it's called.

LONG LIVE ROCK AND METAL!!!!!!!!!!

LONG LIVE ROCK AND METAL!!!!!!!!!!

however, I like Muse. sorry

R'n'B
commercial dance
Happy hardcore (quite possibly the worst form of "music" in the Universe)

So basically everything the Burberry-clad, souped-up Nova driving underclass listen to.

To be honest, I don't dislike any genre other than the annoying one-off girl singers who do one annoying song which gets to 15 in the chart then dissapear.

I will listen to anything once, to at least give it the chance. DnB, trance, indie, rap, rock, all get a look in.

For example, a few of my favourite artists are;
Hendrix, Pendulum, Minus the Bear, Kanye West, Freestylers, Lighthouse Family, at the drive-in, Dillinger Escape plan, Million Dead, Pink Floyd, Plan B.

I can't think of any single genre that I'd say I'd hate. That's the great thing about music - there is something worth listening to in every genre. You're really closing off many many experiences by limiting yourself to one or two genre's like most people do.

A better question would be what are your favourite genre's - Drum n Bass and good ole' rock would be mine :)

On an average night I can go from Pantera to Daft Punk to High Contrast to All Saints to Cranberries, etc etc.

it is funny how most of you dislike rap whereas youve probably only heard 1% and that 1% youve heard is probably all the xxxx stuff...to put it eloquently

i wont say that i hate death metal, even though if i had the choice of genres it would be near the bottom, simply because i have not heard enough of it...

Who defines what is good or crap?
Theres an old saying "You can't polish a turd" and no matter how much more death metal you hear it will be crap if what you've already heard is crap.
I think Eminem is a genius but I've yet to hear any other rap that comes close - you on the other hand will probably say Eminem is the **** stuff.
