Ubisoft FarCry 5 'are you ready' thread just shown up....

I liked FC3 and 4 but really wish Ubi would put more thought into the actual content.
AC-O and The Division (and most of the other Assasins Creed games) are massive open worlds with nothing but repetitive crap to do in and the Farcry games are much the same. I'd much prefer smaller maps with more variety of missions with some actual originality in them.

That said I'll probably buy FC5 when it hits a bargain basement price for the full edition.

well it's more open world with full co-op, fully customisable to allow you to make it more the type of FPS you want - plus a load of side bits if you fancy doing something else, not sure what else you could want.

If you are in here then you must be fans/liked the series at some point and have a general interest surely? makes you a bit of a **** otherwise tbh.

Skipped primal and fc4 but i've had a lot of gametime in the others, for me adding the proper co-op is a gamechanger

Yes, I was a huge fan of the first, was among the minority of people who loved the second and enjoyed the third but thought it was a bit too dumbed down.

I skipped the 4th as its looked like 3.5 so figured I'd just save the cash, and skipped primal as I wasn't interested in a caveman far cry 3.

I was hoping this would go further towards realism than those, maybe only as realistic as FC2 and not ARMA style.

What I didn't expect was to have to chop up cow balls and escort a performing bear.

I played redneck rampage in 1998 and it wasn't that funny then, its even less funny as an adult tbh.

Coop? Thats a plus point for those that want it but a non issue for me. Its not a case of 'oh look at me not buying' its more of a case of 'I really hoped this would be a change'

I guess it depends how silly it gets and to what frequency, I don't mind the odd comical side mission but like you I prefer a more realistic-ish approach. I've not looked at that much of this as I don't want to know everything going in, I want it to be a surprise. I certainly don't believe its going to be endless stupid humor all the way through.

Share the same view on fc4 but I do hope it has the same customisation options as wildlands, as that allowed you to pretty much setup the type of game you wanted.

This is a day 1 purchase for me.

I would preorder however CDkeys are only selling an EU key it seems. Great if I was back home, but I am guessing it might freak out when it picks up my Indian IP address over here.

I am reluctant to order directly from Uplay........too expensive.

I will be getting this for sure, looks like great fun, though will get a key from a CJS or similar.

Only thing that bugs me is the Co-op, 2 player only and the second player doesn't unlock the progression..I'd love to play with 2 or 3 friends through the whole thing. Tried Wildlands but the lag was just buggy and awful.
