UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 5th October 2023]

Just clarifying for the sake of it - but i saw someone say that onana was a midfielder until recently, someone threw him in goal a few years back and hes been stuck there ever since - that is actually a joke right?

Is there more to this? I think his diving looks really strange, like it’s not the dive of a keeper if that makes sense.

Also on 1 on 1 he kind of just falls to the deck? I always assumed that keepers made them self bigger like a star jump out at them/charge close the angle down.

i didnt know onana was banned from football for a year in 2021 for doping

maybe that was when he forgot how to be a keeper?

Coming out second half we are terrible this season, wasnt sure about Eriksen switch he great going forward but defensively terrible.

Calls for sacking another manager doesn't solve any of the issues at United. Who'd be next??? You look at the list of recent managers and the "names" are all good managers, but have failed to move things forward. There are glimmers of hope at times, but recently it's been awful to witness.

Starts at the top - Glaziers. Either sell it, or stop this nonsense "sale". Any business needs clear direction, and the owners continuing this absolute farcical situation does nothing to help. Been 9 months now and nothing has happened.
  • Recruitment has been poor for years now - The money United are spending on "average" players is just insane.
  • Early days for both - But Mount and Onana looks terrible.... The whole Sancho mess doesn't help either.
  • Rashford already looks like he's got his sulk on again this season.
  • Injuries have been harsh this season so far - but it's a squad game and the depth of quality simply isn't there.
  • ETH is trying to implement his style of football but I do believe him when he talks about the culture at United - far to many "comfy" players there - lacking some fight and workrate at times.

I sometimes wonder if our fans even watch our games. Mount was excellent tonight, in what world does he look terrible?

And your squad depth comment is just ridiculous. We literally have four players that can play left back in the senior squad. We are currently in the position where 3 are injured and the other has to play rb because our other rb is injured. What squad depth helps with that problem?

Just watched those highlights
Onana in goal looks like he's playing 9 aside with his mates and someone's reluctantly gone in goal.
Everything is a weird flop.

And to think that it was only a couple of months ago that Rashford was saying how he was going to beat Rooneys goal tally this season. Maybe he meant Mickey Rooney

The PL currently sit 4th in terms of coefficient points won this season and need to be in the top 2 to get an extra CL spot next season. This is what happens when Utd and Arsenal are in the CL rather than playing in the Europa.
And you though its going to be Newcastle letting the PL down

I'd have waited until after tomorrow night's game before posting this or a few Arsenal and Utd fans could be quoting you in 24 hours.
We all know we’re going to get absolutely destroyed tomorrow night, but we were expected the other 2 to at least put up a fight.

PSG aren’t all that good and have started the season relatively poorly.

Can easily see you coming away with something at home.
