UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 6th May 2021]

Nah, they just beat PSG without Mbappe, it won't be as easy against Kroos, Benzama etc etc. Credit to City though, a great team to watch right now, just don't think they can contain a Madrid who have lifted it 4 times in last 7 years.

Have you been watching RM in the CL this season. They are average at best. They have some good players and can punish you but they are not even close to what they were 3 years ago.

Agree with that to some extent, lets see at 10pm ;)

3-1 Chelsea. Heard it here first. :p

For extra bonus points, Werner will score one and set up one of the others.

I would rather see RM in the final because an all English final is **** but I don't see it happening.

Here goes ... 2-1 Madrid, Benzama first one, Hazard 85th minute heartbreaker LOL.

Brilliant. Ramos is back for some expert ****-housery tonight against Chelsea. Its always good when he plays.

God the news this morning has been 1 big City jerkfest, yes they have played well this season and sometimes been great to watch but when you look at money spent it's more a surprise that this will be their 1st European final, they have massively underperformed in Europe and have still got to win the final, gotta say this is the worst semi-finals for a neutral because it was either oil money (City & PSG), government bailout kings (Real) or extremely questionable wealth (Chelsea) and unfortunately they can't all lose which would be my preference.
City have done well this season because the fans have been kept away and they don't have any real fans only a few plastic ones so have been largely unaffected by empty stadiums.

At the other end of the scale teams like Liverpool who gain inspiration from the fans have fell apart.

Cristiansen is lucky to get away with that tackle. Wonder if they are targeting the biscuit?

And Havertz stood on him there. Chelsea need to calm down a little.

If that was Harry Kane instead of Mount there, Chelsea would have had a penalty.

This place is a hive of activity...

These supposedly great European teams really are not looking like much this season when up against the big boys of the premier league

It's a weird time, save for Bayern who were unlucky to go out against PSG, the other big European teams are all transitioning. It's how the dominant country seems to rotate through Italy, Spain, Germany, and England as the years pass.

I mean Madrid haven't exactly been great all season and Chelsea have taken it to another level with Tuchel, so it's not that surprising really. Madrid have also had about 2,500 injuries this season :p.

Wasn't too long ago the English teams were in this slump.

RM looking a lot like United. A bit lost against a team that is set up well and works hard. Looking for a nice little cross or moment of magic to break the opposition down.

Football is pretty boring now. The Premier League will dominate for the next ten years. I miss the days of the 90's and 00's when Italy, Germany, Spain and England battled it out quite evenly.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy my team winning stuff but not when you are at such a massive advantage compared to other countries.
