UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 7th November 2024]

Again this is why is concerns me that Amorim wasn't good enough for them, they don't tend to make many bad decisions. The opposite of United, actually.

What do you mean isn't good enough for them. There is no suggestion of this. They decided to go for a different manage. You have to have a manager that suits your players and style of football you want to play. If there is a manager who does that more than another then you should probably hire that one.

Exactly, even Liverpool fans aren't saying this. It seems like some of our own fans are desperate for him to fail...

Quite the opposite, desperate to succeed which is why being critical is key, not just lapping things up.

Have you not seen the last decade? We've been here before... More than once.

I only really see the positivity on here to be honest, most other places and people are just on the fence with things (bar the Untied forums as I don't read those).

Edit - I don't think questioning the management decisions of Manchester United equals wanting the club to fail.

I feel like you aren't really sure what you think. You are not being "critical", you've twice implied he was rejected by Liverpool which is simply not true.

So what would you have done instead then, stuck with Ten Hag and bought another £500m of players for him, all while finishing in mid table?

Why should people not be positive, we've decisively gone out and appointed the best manager available to replace one that was failing quite badly. Yes the squad needs a lot of work, but you need a good manager to fix that too.

You obviously aren't looking very hard then, because the positivity around the manager is pretty universal. It's still early days for the INEOS guys, and before you say it, yes, they made mistakes in the summer, but in mitigation, they'd only just taken over.

Perhaps I'm coming across different to how I think and/or not using the correct terminology.

For what it's worth I do recall being one of the people who wasn't sure about ETH, Antony, Martinez etc when they all joined.

Edit - also perhaps I am being overly negative.

Getting Odegaard back and fit for the rest of the season is vital for Arsenal. I said this last season but he is their most important player alongside Saka. Without him Arsenal are largely a set piece and "please do something Saka" team.

You could say that Odegaard is to Arteta what Jay Jay Okocha was to Sam Allardyce.

Having a progressive right back behind Saka is equally vital.
