UEFA Champions League 2010/11 Matchday 5 *** Spoilers ***

Hmm which game to watch? I saw the first Utd Rangers game and to say I was perplexed with a 0-0 draw was an under statement. That said it was early and cautious, maybe tonight will be a little more exciting. Spurs though? Probably a more equal/exciting game?

There's always some kind of drama with Spurs.. Were you asleep on Saturday? :p

I think Smalling deserves a start anyway but it is a surprise that both Rio and Vidic are being rested.

Think we'll go like this;

GK: PIG

RB: Brown
CB: Smalling
CB: Evans
LB: O'Shea

RM: Nani
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

I agree Smalling deserves a start - I ,like you, were surprised that he wasnt being partnered with Rio or Vidic

Personally would prefer Rafael to start a few games in a row (he wasnt injured at the weekend was he?), and as he has been out for a while (but had a few training matches) hope to see Fabio coming off the bench

Ive got a crazy idea that Park may start instead of Scholes in the above line up, with maybe Giggs going inside (as he hasnt had a start since his hamstring pull, Utd dont want him belting down the wing just yet hahaha)

I know Utd really miss his goals - but I really dont miss Ronaldo - and only because I got really sick of his rolling around all the time. I know some of them were actually genuine fouls and due to his speed they could have hurt a significant amount, but every single game he would be rolling around for every tackle and I just wanted him to "man up" more. I know he was brought up to do it, like most continental players - I just wish SAF had been able to drum it out of him

I think Nani is worse for this at the moment.

I was working all weekend :( Now you've mentioned it though, the spuds probably is the better choice. What if United loose though!?

Rangers will park the bus and it'll be a very boring game.

Spurs vs. Werder Bremen will probably end up 7-5 or something.

When United lose....:p they simply just have to beat Valencia :)

Anyways for everyone thinking we(Rangers) will be parking the bus tonight then you may be surprised as we don't have enough players to do that.

Walter Smith has already stated we can't play like that since we don't have the required personnel and also because we do need a win :)

I'm hoping for a similar performance to how we played against Valencia at home....with a better result ;)

This is what I'm hoping. You can't just park the bus for every CL group game and expect to progress, you've got to put in a shift at some point. As you need a win, I guess tonight would be the night to do it. No offence, but I still don't expect you to win, just for the game to be more entertaining than the first. Best of luck all the same though :)

I'm excited to see the football tonight.

I reckon the yidos vs the germans will be the pick of the ties tonight
hope it is 4-4 :)

Rangers: McGregor, Davis, Whittaker, Broadfoot, Weir, Foster, Naismith, McCulloch, Hutton, Weiss, Miller. Subs: Alexander, Fleck, Beattie, Loy, Perry, Wylde.

Man Utd: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Evans, Smalling, Fabio Da Silva, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Berbatov, Rooney. Subs: Amos, Evra, Brown, Anderson, Hernandez, Obertan, Macheda.

Should be more than enough to do the job.

Looking forward to seeing how Smalling gets on.
