UEFA Champions League 2010/11 Matchday 5 *** Spoilers ***

Walcott continues to be an ass. Bendtner's an arrogant **** who once again did **** all.

We've gone from having an occasional crap game, e.g. Hull City a few years ago, to having a few more in a row. Worrying when we want to be in the top four.

I do take exception to that, Bendtner made runs for 45 mins straight and the passes never materialised, again he got zero service all game long. Right from the start he had a run ignored, the ball ended up out wide to Gibbs, he was wide open for a cross, instead of the dangerous fast ball across and FORWARD Gibbs took it all the way and crossed at the last second cutting it back so the defenders had no problem clearing it. There were about 4 of those where Bendtner couldn't have been better positioned and the cross was abysmal. Later on he started dropping deeper to try and get on the ball, when he did so, he created the best pass/chance of the game.

Again, you can't have a striker(or two) with zero service, sub the strikers and expect them to play better, Chamakh got exactly no service aswell.

Leaving Bendtner on and changing Rosicky and Theo who were both awful might have made the difference.

But honestly, can any Arsenal fan honestly say "old Wenger" wouldn't have taken a 4-4-2 somewhere like Braga, played all out attack, and demolished them 6 or 7 -0.

Going to Braga, with a 4-5-1, with awful wingers(well, not wingers at all) is just laughable.

It is laughable, to be fair I suppose it shows Wenger himself recognises the lack of quality there.

As said above there's nobody to really guide them in any position. Our players are either old enough to do that but too quiet, or too young to really offer wisdom based on years of experienc e.g. Cesc.

Our wingers are rubbish considering we're comparing them to the standard, quality and consistancy of Pires and Freddie. :/

(well, not wingers at all)

Another reason why I don't understand wenger. We have central players thrown on the wings and labelled wingers. Maybe if we had some natural wingers we might start scoring more goals from crosses! Chamakh and Bendtner could be scoring way more goals if we did.

Watching the highlights they actually looked the most likely to score.

Stats seem to agree, they had more shots on goal, usually low possession for us too. Man U/Spurs fans are gonna be unbearable tomorrow.

If the tables remain the same, then we'll have either real, barca, lyon or bayern to play. I wouldn't mind lyon but I know we'll end up with barca/real which should lead to yet another footballing lesson.

The only players that benefit playing ina 4-5-1, are Diaby, Denilson and Song, because everyone else is built to attack, Arshavin, Rosicky, Bendtner, Chamakh, etc, etc, etc, they are all built to attack and quality players in general, all of they would play better with two strikers upfront, the only reason to play 4-5-1 is to play an extra central midfielder, now, can anyone explain how having Denilson helped us win that game?

The two crucial moments an extra defensive midfielder would have helped, he utterly fluffed, should have been red carded(despite them scoring the second, it was a clear second yellow card, I actually think we were unlucky not to have it given, if he was carded Wenger wouldn't have the option to play him next time).

We catagorically play worse in 4-5-1 than 4-4-2, most of our best offensive performances we dominate games and pretty much play 2-4-4 anyway with full backs pushed up and Arshavin/someone else/Fab pushed way forwards, for 2 years every time its not going our way Wenger plays us as a 4-4-2 in the final 20 minutes anyway because 4-5-1 isn't working.

Its utter madness to buy one small central attacking midfielder after another, playing them all out of position, then changing formation to cost us a central attacking position, utter madness.

At this stage, Diaby, Denilson, Song, Rosicky, Theo, Djourou, Gibbs all need to be shown the exit door. Gibbs actually doesn't look all that good and gets injured if he plays more than 2 games a month. 4-4-2, buy two proper wingers, start playing guys like Vela properly and upfront, actually rest injured players like Fabregas till he's not injured, buy a real centreback and keeper, and keep investing in young players but actually getting rid of young players who just aren't cutting it rather than promoting them into the first team.

Eduardo's banging them in every CL game without an issue, why, because he actually gets played in HIS position rather than as a winger, and he gets played more than once a month, and more than 10 minutes at a time.

Real, lol. Only Mourinho would have the balls to encourage his players to do that. Cynical, but clever.

Someone should tell Ramos to at least look a little disappointed when getting sent off. I mean, shaking the ref's hand as he went off?! What a pleb.

I hope they get an extra match ban for obvious cheating.

How were they cheating by getting sent off? (Genuinely curious!)

The theory is they deliberately wasted time (they were 4-0 up) so that the yellow cards they were on wouldn't be carried through to the later stages of the competition

Yup, 15 goals in 12 apps in La Liga. I bet even 80m doesn't quite fully soften that blow!

Nope, although to be honest I miss the exciting winger Ronaldo that did all the tricks and step overs more than the goal machine he is now. I'd gladly take either back though

What Ramos and Alonso done is hardly new. Beckham got himself booked to get his suspension out of the way for England when he realised he was injured and I remember Rafa signalling to Kuyt to get himself booked vs PSV a few years back too.

Don't know what game wenger watched but kicked off the park? Yes the tackle on DM's favourite son was worthy off yellow but thats it.

Tbh Wenger just needs to STFU and realise that our **** poor youngsters arent good enough for the CL or any major tournament other than the worthless cup.

Im fed up of his constant whinging ie we got kicked off the park...no **** maybe if you bought some stronger players we wouldnt be so bullied around FFS. If it isnt the physical aspect then its the refs or something equally stupid...sure we should have had a penalty but we didnt but that doesnt excuse our frankly crappy performance...we capitulated just like we did on Sat against the Spurs and its now become an issue where we cant see out games when we are leading...even the pundits are taking the proverbial about our lack of killing off a game.

Its been a terrible week so far and Aston, who we play next will be gagging to take us on and i wouldnt be surprised if they beat us.

Aye, not an easy game as they're heading back up again under Houllier.

On one hand it's not so bad as the sides around us are still inconsistent. However we know they all have, perhaps City and Spurs too, the ability to stop being so under their belt.

Our season is starting to spiral downwards. The loss against W Brom was followed by a good few wins on the trot. Then Newcastle and we got back to tough away wins at Everton and Wolves. Then Spurs, and now a frankly beneath us Braga side. :/

At least these guys were just time wasting. Beckham went in and tackled somebody if memory serves correct. Imagine if it went wrong.

Haha just seen the Ramos and Alonso sending off clips.

Excellent idea, I would have done the same if I was Mourinho.

Pretty funny too.
