UEFA Champions League/Europa League 15/16/17 March *** Spoilers ***

In light of recent fan behaviour, Man Utd will take a self-imposed ban from Europe next season by failing to qualify for any competitions.

Wait...yet they couldn't act against United last week? That's ridiculous.

Amazed that Liverpool have been charged with illicit chants and United havent, when the sick United chants could be heard clearly on the television broadcast during both games.

Probably doesn't meet UEFA's criteria. Booing the UEFA anthem and swearing are far more serious crimes.

It just not Fellani fault but LVG for selecting him. What amazes me is how he gets picked for the team when he puts in performances like that. He doesnt contribute to anything for Man U and if we are really blunt. He hacks because he cant compete or do anything else. Watch him next time, he gets passed the ball, he doesnt even try to create or do anything, He just passes to another player. He doesnt want it. How can you be a footballer when you dont want the ball??

My comment on Fellaini goes back to his Everton days. Nearly every game he plays, he elbows somebody. I remember 1 Merseyside derby where he elbowed Agger twice from 1 corner kick and both Skrtel and Gerrard in the same game. Over the course of this tie he got away with 3 elbows.

It's truly staggering that he gets away with it so often.

It's only the arm near the player that makes that swinging action. He's a dirty **** and I cant believe he didn't get sent off yet again.

He does it all the time, and to me it's obvious it's basically always intentional. He often doesn't look, but he knows exactly what he's doing... it's significantly different to how people swing their arms when jumping naturally, imo.

What I find strange though is how referees seem to be so leniant with him, nearly every match I watch him he should either get a straight red for an incident or at least two yellow cards and I can't remember the last time he did.

I hope he does somebody in the Derby and is banned until the end of the season where hopefully he goes to a division of his standard. As long its away from the Utd the team, I am happy

Yep a portion of our fans are part of the reason why 39 people were killed. Fortunately that doesn't seem to happen in the 30 years since and the scum in our fan base has dwindled and isn't in the thousands.

None of that really changes the fact I don't want to listen to Hillsborough or Heysel chants for 90 minutes, particularly at Anfield

Well I guess thats both sets of fans that don't want to see that kind of behaviour. You know the kind of things like Munich songs outside Anfield only a week ago all away from the cameras (As reported by some of your older match going fans). Because that's not cool to have both Utd and Liverpool fans seen as scrotes in equal measure is it.

I thought after Hillsborough and Heysel it was a well known fact that Liverpool fans never sung about Munich and it was only a small minded minority. it would be really embarrassing if it wasn't a small minority but one of your largest independent global supporters clubs mocking the death of the people in the Munich Air Disaster. Now that would be a huge embarrassment, dare I say ******* HYPOCRISY

It would be both sets of fans had I heard Munich songs during the match, thankfully i didn't in either leg this time around.

Called out Liverpool fans when I've seen it when not mentioned by others on here, eg on the platform's to Stoke the other year. Haven't denied it's happening at all, getting a bit heavy on one side these days though. I've seen those videos in the past, they don't represent myself and I certainly don't hear thousands in our crowd doing it, so no it's not really a huge embarrassment for myself.

It's not at all in equal measure these days, unfortunately still have those who let the fan base down.

Meh, doorhandles at both clubs, and every club for that matter. Some clubs have a higher percentage of doorhandles to non-doorhandles (Millwall).

Vocal minority, while there might be a high portion of away fans from both clubs singing, they are not indicative of the wider fan base.

I've been vocal myself about this before, find out who sings, who starts fights, et cetera and fine, then ban them.

The majority of the stadium sings 'won it three times without murdering anyone' and 'always the victim'. In fact a fair few players did in Moscow too

Can't imagine a won it five times without crashing a plane by thousands would go without issue

Huge amount of scum on both sides, whether you disagree with their being a strikingly larger portion on one side or not doesn't really matter, not going to change anyone's mind

Edit - also probably not achieving much here, I vent about it and everything that annoys me in football (mainly lfc sadly), there's no right or wrong here but yeah don't take it too personally I haven't accused yourself or anyone on here being those people.

Other than the always the victim that everyone got away with on here the only snide comment has come from a Liverpool fan towards Munich the month I joined here when you beat us in the Fa cup

Meh, maybe a slightly higher portion of doorhandles on each side when Liverpool play United then.

Still, just arrest them post match, was rubbish to see the fighting at the end of the match (and the Liverpool fans who snuck in to the Manchester United home area to hang a banner), especially when you see a young fan (Manchester United fan) hit by a chair.

Yeah sneaking into home end is daft, gagging for a beating and no sympathy if you can't keep your mouth shut.

Can you be arrested? Should certainly be banned from football stadiums in the country. (Or ideally shot)

Disagree on the slightly but yeah, we'll leave it there, neither of us so doesn't really matter

Sure you can, arresting away fans is ridiculously easy. Keep them in the ground afterwards and stagger the exit, as fans leave arrest them.

Should have a standard fine, and a banning order from all grounds in the country. If those fans have been violent (throwing objects, fighting, damaging the ground) then a higher fine, ban, and a caution.

Ok, maybe higher than slightly :p.

I wouldn't have thought so, but they could probably find a charge that those chants fit within the parameters of?

We've discussed these sort of thing before and as I know you're aware, a minority of idiots start these things and mob mentality takes over.

The people that run the SOS would never have planned or expected that to happen. They hired a band to perform at a function and the band decided to start singing those songs and a group of drunk men joined in. It's no different from what's happened at the last few Liverpool - Utd games with the Hillsborough songs. 99% of the people singing those songs aren't scumbags, they just get caught up in the moment with the whole mob mentality.

I always try to stay impartial on these matters and make a point of saying it's not Utd fans, Liverpool fans or whoever else but individual idiots. However the Hillsborough songs have escalated to the point where they're being sung on mass at every single Liverpool - Utd game in the last 7 or 8 years, even at youth and reserve games. I'm certain there would have been Liverpool fans that made reference to Munich last night and at other Liverpool - Utd games but you do not hear them being sung to the extent that Hillsborough songs have been.

Both clubs need to work together, put pride aside and make a big thing of this - be loud and clear that it's completely unacceptable and if needs be, start pulling people out and banning them. What will happen though is a statement will be released condemning those that have chanted these things and it'll go completely under the radar.
