UEFA Champions League/Europa League 2010/11 Matchday 4 *** Spoilers ***

case in point really. 30 games in which he's either scored a goal or made an assist in each of those. can't be effective can he?
being purposefully blind I guess

I plainly said consistent for a SEASON - which those stats do not show!!!

Anyone can make stats show exactly what they want , they are meaningless on their own

edit -and of course you arent keeping on and on by continueing to attack me

I assume you're being purposefully slow or else it's just a real shame. people did have problems with Nani in his first couple of years with us. However since January he has been consistently very good and shows no signs of slowing down. I'd say that Ronaldo took a few years to settle but then you'd only go and use your infallible age/experience weight benefit argh argument. So maybe you could look at someone like Malouda who if I'm not mistaken came across with more experience than Nani.

30 games although across 2 seasons is enough to begin revising a view of a player but you won't grasp it.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has singled out Nani as the key man in Manchester United's push for the Premier League.

Nani's controversial goal in the 2-0 win over Tottenham at the weekend was the pacy winger's fifth of the season for his club and his form has been noted in north London.

'I'm very impressed by Nani,' said Wenger. 'I like what he is doing. He has individual quality in one-on-ones, but he has improved a lot in his team play and in front of goal.

'He has started scoring goals with both feet, and is a great crosser of the ball.

'Personally I think he has developed his game in an extraordinary way.'

Nani was asked to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Real Madrid in 2009 and Wenger believes the Portuguese is following in the footsteps of his more famous countryman.

The Frenchman added on Eurosport: 'He has something like that about him. He is a little bit less direct in his way of playing than Ronaldo is. However, he is technically a virtuoso and has remarkable speed.'

The Gunners are above United on goal difference after 10 games of the season - five points behind leaders Chelsea.

33 goals/assists in 31 matches

but obviously stats don't mean anything and i'm sure you can use those stats to show us all how bad Nani has been over the corresponding time period as you can use them to show exactly what you want I'm sure.

Is this the same Nani who certain posters were saying needed to be played week in, week out, in the position he plays in (RWF) to see the best of him and not shoved out as a wide left midfielder for the odd game and then dropped for three months?

My my.

I wonder what Anderson has done wrong in the past week, was playing quite well, making a real contribution and then Poof! he vanishes into thin air!

Same with Hernadez, he scores 3 in 2, and Poof! he vanishes into thin air and we find Dimitar "didnt take long to revert to his usual useless self" Berbatov playing.

anderson virus

im sure bebe ran over to the bench to hug anderson on the bench in the CL though:) ignore fergie, straight for ando.

berba, well, lets not go there quite yet. i mean whats 0 goals in 8 games as a lone striker saying? strange he stopped socring when rooney stopped play, eh weebull;)

Fabianski
Eboue
Squillaci
Djourou
Clichy
Eastmond
Rosicky
Wilshere
Walcott
Nasri
Bendtner

subs
Szczesney
Sagna
Koscielny
Vela
Chamakh
Emmanuel-Thomas
Lansbury

Good side to be honest, even though it's nearly entirely a second XI, only really Clichy, Nasri, possibly Wilshere I suppose. Arsenal's squad feels good at the minute. It'll be interesting to see this midfield though with Diaby, Denilson, Song and Fabregas out.

Shakhtar Donetsk v Arsenal teams:

Shakhtar Donetsk: Pyatov, Srna, Chygrynskiy, Rakitskiy, Rat, Gai, Hubschman, Jadson, Eduardo, Willian, Luiz Adriano.

Subs: Khudzamov, Kucher, Kobin, Stepanenko, Douglas Costa, Alex Teixeira, Moreno.

Arsenal: Fabianski, Eboue, Squillaci, Djourou, Clichy, Eastmond, Wilshere, Walcott, Rosicky, Nasri, Bendtner.

Subs: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vela, Chamakh, Emmanuel-Thomas, Lansbury.

Still going on about last night!?

There are fixtures tonight people!

Unless something out of the Ordinary happens, it will be the usual Ukrainian horror show for Arsenal, and the standard destruction derby at stamford bridge.

So, really, nothing worth talking about ;)

I joke of course. :)

Chelsea v Spartak Moscow teams:

Chelsea: Cech, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Alex, Cole, Mikel, Ramires, Zhirkov, Kalou, Drogba, Anelka.

Subs: Turnbull, Sturridge, Terry, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Kakuta, McEachran.

Spartak Moscow: Dikan, Ivanov, Pareja, Suchy, Makeev, Ibson, Shyeshukov, McGeady, Alex, Dmitri Kombarov, Welliton.

Subs: Belenov, Sabitov, Drincic, Bazhenov, Khodyrev, Ananidze, Kozlov.

Hmmm I was going to put £20 on Chelsea just to make easy money but I decided against it. CSKA really need a win and Chelsea don't...

LOL Ramires, Kalou and Ferreira all starting.

Might as well hand the 3 pts to CSKA now. I seriously think that despite Chelsea being unbeaten in 21 champions league home group games CSKA are worth a punt tonight!

one last Bebe point:

my mate at work (arsenal fan) went to OT for the wolves UTD game when bebe came on and scored that deflection.

he came in to work the next day and was like, OMG bebe is the future. he said he was big, fast, creative and skillful. he said he went round moloko one way, then the next, and after that he just rode over him like he wasnt there. He said he;s basically T1000 in human form. true he isnt polished but he is a beast with pace, power, strength. the future ronaldo perhaps/

now, ill leave u to tonights fixtures.

Who's Eastmond?

Young English player brought through, he is a decent player, tenacious in the tackle and usually sits deep. Shown enough ability to prove he can compete in the squad though, hopefully he'll keep on improving.

Extremely bold move to have an 18 and 19 year old CM duo though, away from home in the CL, and encouraging to see the youth system providing a good option.
