In both situations the fullbacks haven't been close or helping. This overly defensive system where the fullbacks move super narrow and the wingers drop back in as wing backs. But the cb's/fullbacks in their narrow position haven't done their jobs either. If Chelsea had set up more normally they'd have an actual fullback marking that player who crossed in both times.
Chelsea's narrow defence in the middle did as bad or worse a job than Hazard... except they are supposed to be great defensively, Hazard is being asked to play out of position and not doing a great job, and ultimately it's Mourinho that made both of those choices.

Doubtful. It'll be standard La Liga top of the league fare, IE; loads of cheating, rolling around, diving, hassling the ref for cards etc etc.

Yup, Simeone has been superb, he won the europa cup with them, improved in the league every year and now in a champs league final(most likely) and two wins in the league from winning the title..... unbelievable given the resources, wages, squad size. Mostly with players other people didn't consider stars(mostly) that have each and every one improved dramatically in the past 3 years. Brilliant job. As said, he hasn't gone boring possession football or overly defensive boring crap either. Just good everywhere on the pitch.
Not massively surprised by the past 30 mins though. When Jose asks his players to play like this, they went behind and the players look somewhat clueless as to how to switch to completely different offensive tactics. They tried to push forward a bit but with no confidence, and let Atletico in multiple times since.
The more you kill your teams creativity and tell them you don't trust them to win via more "normal" tactics, the team plays more and more like this.
Mourinho should have just left the team as it was instead of bringing Eto'o on for Cole straight after half time.
Atletico v Real will be a much more competitive final though, Atletico have ripped Chelsea apart since Chelsea have had to chase the game.

The commentators don't genuinely buy into Mourinho's crap about them not having a chance to win anything this year. Its more of a surprise when Mourinho isn't lying through his teeth. You can take about 10% of what he says as approaching the truth.
Admit that Chelsea have played negative football to get where they have this season and has finally been found out.

Mourinho stayed on the pitch and shook his hand, good to see. Simeone deserves that respect frankly, astonishing season now. If Atletico win nothing he is manager of the year by a absolutely ridiculous margin already.
While Rodgers has done well, Atletico with less resources have done better and done equally as well in a tough european competition where they have had some very tough games.
Would be a huge shame if Atletico didn't get some real reward for this season though, they deserve the double.
