UEFA Champions League/Europa League 3/4/5 April *** Spoilers ***

Holy ****, what a magnificent performance.

Destroyed them in the first half and shut them out in the second.

Always fancied us to score a few against them, never in a million years did I expect to keep a clean sheet.

Could very easily go the other way in the second leg but we've really given ourselves a great chance now.

Edit: So many candidates for MOTM. Robertson and Ox in the first half, TAA in the second and Milner and Henderson all game. Hard to think we scored 3 goals and it was the midfield and defence that shone.

Well played, wanted city to win the competition but they didn’t deserve anything. They won’t turn that around, Liverpool will score there once I’m sure.

As a Spurs man this is good news, City will have to go all out over the next 2 games, against their rivals to win the league and in the second leg. After that We have them at home so probably the best opportunity we could ask for to catch them not at their best.

Congrats to Liverpool, great result.

Not one shot on target from Man City, amazing considering their performances this season.

Big shout outs to Ox , who has looked very good since his move and Robertson who has made his 8m pricetag look an absolute joke since making the left back slot his own

That's the loudest I've ever heard Anfield, from 20 minutes before kick-off the place was rocking. I can't remember much of the game other than how well Hendo and Trent played - Hendo covered every blade of grass and Trent dealt with Sane as well as anybody has all season.

Be interesting to see what punishment is slapped on Liverpool for the team bus incident.

Great performance from Liverpool, schooled city but I wouldn't call the tie 100% dead yet as we saw what happened at City's ground to Liverpool this season.

To be fair, before the sending off we were smashing them and should've been a few goals up had it not been for poor finishing. The sending off changed the game and we chose to keep attacking rather than shut up shop and keep the score down.

A few k fine i imagine.

Given UEFA's failure to ever punish Roma etc for their fans behaviour, citing the fact that their ground isn't owned by the club but by the city and therefore not the club's responsibility, I can't see there being much more than a fine.

I was there and without wanting to downplay it, it really was just a handful of idiots that spoiled it.

It always is sadly but you can guarantee the papers will make as much a deal if that as of how well Liverpool played :(

Citys defending was awful for 2 of the goals but Liverpool played well for the 90 minutes and City were as bad as I have seen them. Sane seemed completely unwilling to run at the Liverpool defenders and City looked very toothless against a resolute defensive effort.
