UEFA Champions League/Europa League 5/6/7/March *** Spoilers ***

Indeed .

Listen to what rio said.. It's hard to jump with your arm behind your back or parallel to your side of your body lol.

How about don't turn your back. Then you know how to move your arm out of the way.

If he had been facing the ball the question would have been if he tried to get his arm out of the way given the distance. Turning your back is an easy way to break the rule otherwise.

I agree it's marginal which makes the VAR call so big. They shouldn't be changing decisions if they're marginal.

I'd agree about changing decisions - but I think you might be getting the two facets of VAR mixed up. The people on the sideline can constantly review what's happening and tell the ref if he's made a mistake so it can be retroactively corrected.

But what happened here was the ref from the start saying I don't know what happened and I need a closer look. The VAR rules allow that to be done to make the decision in the first place. And in that case, it doesn't signify whether it's marginal because it isn't changing a decision.

Probably the best night for me since the SAF days.

Have to say, Ole has won me over 100% now, he's clearly a great motivator and isn't bad tactically either.

How badly has Mourinho been exposed now too, not a man manager at all.

Doesn't matter which way he was facing. It was blasted at him then glanced off his thigh onto his arm.

This was nothing like a point blank hit. If he had been facing the ball then I have no doubt you would have seen motion to try and get his arm out of the way. Any attempt would have got credit and would have determined whether it was possible.

Also I didn't see it hit his legs and take a deflection like that.

If he doesn't get it, the next manager will be on an even bigger spotlight than Moyes ever was. How can anyone else top this sequence of results?
Won't matter much if they don't win anything or get top 4.

The season doesn't end today. United would be mad to give him the job now .wait until end of the season

According to Mourinho it’s all new manager luck... haha. Ridiculous.

Do you have a source for this. As far as I knew the ref must make his decision and then it can be reviewed by VAR and then the ref can say he wants to take a look himself. Either way, excluding matter of fact calls (offsides, ball going out of play) it must be a clear mistake for the decision to be overturned.

Maybe but from where we were we could never have imagined this turnaround. We were something like 11 points off top 4, absolutely dire and half our best players wanted to leave.

We aren’t good enough to win the league and we won’t win the CL. Unless we fall off a cliff before the end of the season he has to be top choice currently.

God Michael Owen is a little scrote. Didn’t even celebrate when we scored the winner.

Nonsense. Even if we finish 6th and don't win anything he's brought back the old United and that matters the most.

It absolutely will matter. When he came in there was no expectation to win anything or get top 4. Things were a shambles.

He has done a fantastic job, this can't be denied. Overturning a deficit like this with half of the first team squad injured is mightily impressive. First time it's ever happened in European Cup history I think BT Sport said.
