UEFA Champions League/Europa League ** Spoilers ** [4th - 6th November 2014]

Better performance from Liverpool but Madrid were very average going forward, loads of chances but weren't clinical. Liverpool had no threat going forward whatsoever.

and you will get certain fans saying that result will give us confidence, yet its the same thing, no creation upfront.

I think today's game puts into perspective just how good Real were 2 weeks ago. I think Ancelloti said himself that 2 weeks ago was the best Real have played all season.

We done alright today, were organised at the back and generally kept the ball well when we got it but without Sturridge and one of Coutinho or Sterling we lacked a spark in attack. It was always going to be a case of hoping to pinch something on a break or set-play and that Real weren't quite as good as they were 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately only half that happened though.

We just need to win our last 2 games, draw Dortmund and go onto win our 6th CL :)

Real Madrid WEREN'T that good two weeks ago, two weeks ago they didn't actually know how good Liverpool were. They could and should have scored a lot more and they barely bothered to play for the entire second half. This game they've gone in feeling like with two days off between games that they could win while playing at a crawl and that is exactly how it looked watching them play.

Real play almost every game like the game two weeks ago... but probably more clinical. The performance tonight was the out of the ordinary one. Rodgers line up didn't help Real, Real figured they'd breeze it then they see the Liverpool line up and figured Liverpool don't believe they can win it, it's just a time killing session for both teams.

Real were poor tonight and decent 2 weeks ago.

Really hope Lovren doesn't come straight back in for Chelsea. Toure's a mess at times but he actually looks less of a mess less often than Lovren does.

Toure does this to you. He'll have a steady game and you think he's not so bad then he gets back to his Fulham away form from last season.

Me and Carlo disagree.

Wenger's failure to strengthen the defence continues to be an issue as many predicted after the transfer window slammed shut.

So disappointing to let a 3 goal lead slip, especially at home.

Does anyone else find Lallana's beard intensely irritating? You don't notice it so much during play, but I watched his post match interview, and it just reminded me that he has an absurdly flaky beard, and should shave it off.

Ordinarily I'd say keep him as far away from the first team as possible but Lovren's been so poor and made so many mistakes it's almost worth playing an accident waiting to happen instead of him. Certainly needs to be benched for a few games to refocus.

Had Sakho been fit I'd agree but I just can't trust Toure. That Fulham game gave me nightmares.

They weren't literall poor but as in, for a team that good they played well well well within themselves, well below there average level this season. They only made a few counter attacks like the Bale one where he got fouled at the kind of pace they usually play at.

It was professional and there was little danger, but they were in 3rd gear, and a manager will almost never both say it and disrespect another big team(one where a high paying job may be available to you in the future). They were okay, but having watched maybe all but 1 of Real's games in full this year I can tell you for a fact that the way they played in the first half 2 weeks ago was the way they've played in 70-80% of their games this year. THe performance they put in tonight was closer to the half arsed performances as they lost two games at the start of the season. Ragged, less pace, less quality, less clinical. It was also when Ronaldo looked at his least fit/most struggling with his injury.

oke

Lol just lol at Arsenal, so weak defensively...Monreal as CB is scary as **** lol. CDM?? for Wenger its a question what is a cdm lol, soon as Arteta went off injured as per usual I had this awful feeling that things would go all pete tong and it did.

Joke of a performance tonight and at home, to draw against a team that we should have battered into the ground tonight is inexcusable...it really is.

3 goal lead gone in 20 mins :p

Thankfully we have Coquelin, give him a chance at CB seeing as he's a better fullback than Monreal... oh wait we can't, because we loaned him out yesterday. Yup, Arsenal injury crisis, lacking quality in the first team, competent fullback cover, half decent DM, potential to be a half decent CB... obviously a set of circumstances which makes you think... loan him out.

As Merson said after the game, tactically clueless. 3-0 up, should be closing the game down but nope all our players are bombing forward out of position:confused:.

Not only him...why the **** we loaned out Jenks??...at least he would have covered at rb and could have played Chambers as cb till Kos gets back.

Threadbare squad defensively, now Arteta is out injured for god knows how long and we have to rely on the ever useless Flamini to try and desperately protect out back 4 lol..

Jan transfer window is simple really, a cb and a cdm..maybe 2 at each position. Its not like we dont have the money, we do so spend it wisely and hopefully no crocks like Kallestrom:p

Puma got Wenger a new coat though, one with a zipper he doesn't have to spend half an hour with to do up.

:D:D

Wenger won't bring in the right people, when he does it's luck rather than sensible decision and when more players are the wrong choice than the right one you're going to end up with a squad of idiots. I mean serious Ramsey tried to shoot for goal from the freekick from 40 yards out. Ronaldo and 3-4 other players try that, what they all have in common(after lets say 19 years old) is that they have powerful shots and score outside the box quite often. Ramsey is god awful shooting outside the box and we're talking edge of the box. Shooting from 40 yards is ridiculous, as was a huge portion of what happened in that game.

The attitude and mentality at the club is so completely wrong, all of them are up themselves, Walcott has a half decent game against Newcastle and will start talking about how great he is and the title... then we'll lose games and they say nothing. Ozil talking about how he has nothing to prove at all because he's a world champion. The whole team act like they are multi title winning players who just got a bit unlucky, a lot of them come across as arrogant and lazy, most of the squad is inconsistent as hell. Wilshere, Sanchez, Mertesacker and Kos are the only players who look remotely professional, working over 90 minutes and who tend to be consistent(unfortunately with the defensive two consistently mistake prone :p ). The rest half arse half their games, put in constant lazy passing or randomly think they can shoot from 40 yards.

15 years and Wenger still can't think tactically. I've said it for pushing a decade now, we won't win things consistently till we get rid of Wenger. ALmost the entire team play like guys who know they won't be dropped, who knows the boss won't scream at them for losing big games, who won't be upset with finishing fourth. Ronaldo, Messi, two of the biggest names in sport ever are guys playing hurt for the majority of the past 1-2 years, Costa as well, Fabregas played with a hamstring issue aswell in his last year at Arsenal/first year at Barca. Ronaldo/Messi who get paid loads, have won their teams everything, they play in pain for the clubs who pay them and the work damn hard when they do. Walcott gets a niggle and stays out for 3 weeks, gets a bad injury and takes longer than anyone else to come back, when he does bother player he puts in half the effort anyone else does.

Everything about Arsenal screams wrong attitude, we buy Sanchez and what that means is half the team think they can work less hard because Sanchez will do it. We buy a top player and the lazy players just get worse so we stay at that same "we'll do just enough for fourth... probably" level.

I'm just fed up with it completely, I'm entirely fine with failure, new manager and he fails, fine, but not trying to change things when the problems are clear as day and Wenger is actively refusing to address them. He's been told/asked about tactics against certain teams, his idea is to play his own way. That's a great idea, or theory except it's been proven for over a decade that Wenger is 100% wrong to simply believe he can play any way he wants regardless of opposition. Wenger is aware this is an issue but thinks he's right, despite all the evidence to the contrary and is refusing to change something he absolutely knows hasn't worked.

We don't even try to win the title anymore, we are just trying to prove Wenger's footballing philosophy except we all know he's wrong. Trying to change and failing is entirely fine by me, refusing to try and change and knowing for a fact we will fail because we know his current methods don't work, that is soul crushing as a fan.
