So giroud made a run that made space for Walcott, and Walcott with all the finishing prowess of a central striker.... passed it slowly wide of the post. Otherwise known as teh Walcott from further than 12 yards out finish. he has zero power, he can't shoot and score from the edge of the box let alone outside it. 99% of his shots from more than 8-10 yards are a side foot pass with no pace on it and they either go straight at the keeper or wide of the post.

2 goals in the league in 27 shots, them be central striker stats, 1 goal in 13.5 shots. Oh, and the pathetic losses earlier in the CL that put us in this position, right, Walcott as the striker looking utterly abysmal with the team looking woeful with him in there. One of the few teams to not beat Chelsea... who was starting up front in that game and was absolutely dire, I can't seem to remember.

You've got to remember he's got the build of a target man, he's not Suarez...he's always going to be limited. Doesn't mean he's not a quality striker..
