Even regardless of that, the proper out and out strikers I would take above him are: Aguero, Lewandowski, Suarez, Mandzukic, probably Benzema and possibly Morata.

Proper strikers are thin on the ground - there are a lot of inside forwards, but in terms of true strikers Giroud is not far off being one of the best.

Edit: and Ibra but I'm not sure he'd be a wise buy
 
Joel Campbell is growing into this team, think if he gets a sustained run we might have a new option on the right side.

You would take Mandzkic and Benzema? I really wouldn't take Mandzukic, i'd take Benzema if he was decent money. Not if he was 40m though..

Morata hasnt done anything this season really, Juve have only scored like 6 goals this season in the CL..

I'd take Vardy if we could get him for 20m..

I think Mandzukic is exceptional, Benzema I'm a little undecided on, he blows hot and cold. Morata was a bit of a wildcard, I'd probably put him alongside players like Lukaku, Lacazette, Martinez and Kane as exceptional talentstalents but not yet an improvement on Giroud. They would be gambles

All good players for sure! I've always liked Martinez, don't know why he didn't get snapped up earlier. Absolute goal machine. Hasn't scored a lot this season though
 
Have Chelsea just been appalling in defence this season because tonight they look great going forwards. I know Porto aren't exactly defending well but I have no idea how Chelsea are near relegation spots and United are near the top.
 
I've always considered Mandzukic overrated myself. Never found him a particularly likable player either with his theatrics and cheating.

Still, he seems to get transferred to the big teams each year albeit not necessarily as first choice striker so it shows what I know!
 
Wouldn't go that far, been a bit flakey at the back but pretty decent attacking. Well happy with that result though.
