Come on comrades don't think we are getting tired of these arguments of attacking and defending!. Football involves attacking and defending and all you need to do is provide the minimum required of those two to win a game.

And Chelsea did that and i deserved the win. As some one who was supporting Baryern i left disappointed first on how ineffective they attack was squandering many chances and how poor their defense was for losing their lead so late in the game.

On the contrary Chelsea were effective in their attack and so was their defending
 
Lol at the comments, the serial haters still hating, the pundits a punditing better than Gary Neville. Some of them have given me more laughs than we had on the train back into Munich on Sunday morning.

The road to the Champions Leagues is a hard one. It takes a mix of every football style to reach the ultimate goal and with it that some luck. We’ve fought every step of the way and the will to win has made a great the difference. When you've had a hand on the cup and lost the grip it make it even more determined to win. It’s been an amazing effort and well deserved. :)

The range of emotions I’ve experienced in the past thirty six hours has been quite amazing. I hope some of you get the chance to do the same. It’s just all beginning to sink in. I woke up this morning smiling and thought Champions of Europe and smiled some more. I’m still smiling and will be for a long time to come. :D

No, I do agree that often the ~best sides don't' win knockout competitions, they often do though. It's not like a league competition.

They were very lucky. Bayern were easily the better side and hit the woodwork two or three times whilst 1-0 up. Manyoo poxed their win, would you have traded away that treble to the better side?

The final made me strangely optimistic about England possibly being involved in a penalty shoot-out. Both Lamps and Cole buried their pens. Cole's was actually pretty much the perfect penalty.

Amen to that, you could definitely see that they had been practising those pens a lot.

Other than Mata's, they were all decent! Luiz's was stunning if I recall.

Luiz's was so risky. I remember saying "this is going over" as he seemed to take a run up from the half way line! Lampards was brave and taken with confidence. Keepers rarely ever save those because they always dive.
 
This thread is ridiculous. If you say anything other than Chelsea were stunning then you're a 'hater'.

Also apparently the only other alternative to all out defence is to play like Barcelona, there is obviously no middle ground at all.

What happened to discussion and differing views?
 
Q. Which self proclaimed 'Student of the Game' had this to say about one of the teams he supports after they blundered their way to a victory?

Good win for United, despite the performance, same goes for Chelsea, I'm informed neither side played well, nor were they good games but the results were good.
