** Uefa Champions League, Semi-final ** *spoilers*

Comment that really assures me of this is the one on Terry.

I'm sure I seen on the one occasion when Eto'o broke away from the mob by flicking it over Terry and leaving Terry dazed only for Alex to track back Eto'o when Eto'o was through on goal ?

If Terry is isolated like this at Stamford Bridge then well ... but he won't be.

Personally, the second leg will be decided on how well Barça defend the counter attacks and set-pieces.

Or, for the good of the game, the football God's will let Barça go through to the final. ;)

I can't remember Terry doing much, I wouldn't say he had a good game.
I'd say that most of the midfield "first row of defense" did most of the work for Chelski tonight. Monno brow had a good game against Messi, and Chelski clearly crowded him out when he had the ball, this wasn't due to Terry. was due to have midfields close him down very quickly.

Disagree ;)

No, but I expected him hold up play, link up with Drogba and run towards the goal. He was poor, he gave the ball away often the same way Cech did, in the Barca midfield which just let them come forward again. Maybe I'm asking too much of an average player.

Can understand your argument but drogba wasn't making anywhere near enough runs for Malouda.

He should have caught more balls, its that simple.
His distrubution was awful, and for apparently a "top 3 goalkeeper" he was awful, he made a couple of good stops. nothing more. nothing less. He also punched / looked unsure about knocking the ball away a couple of times. Compared him to Valdes, made a couple of good saves, but his distrubution was spot on. Has Cech really being that bad that today makes him look good ?

Valdes made one save that was straight at him...How many goal kicks did he have to take? From a distribution point of view he was just rolling it out to the defenders because chelsea played so deep

:rolleyes::o:D:rolleyes:

lol i love the way people pick up on one mistake but forget the numerous positive things he did.

Did you not expect Eto'o to breach the chelsea defense once?

Marquez had about 10% of the work terry had to do and made a much more substantial mistake.

I'm guessing that's a joke seeing as they play in completely different positions and Alves's performance was embarrassing ;)

I agree on this, I honestly think he's massivly over rated, and is maybe only "really" good a hand ful of games, don't get me wrong when he's good. He's good. It's nights like tonight that make me want to punch him, he didn't put in the shift he needed to. Personally, I'd get rid of him.

He made a few kicks, but Chelski could have tried the short pass to a defender and actually try and play this game called football

So was Drogba's, from a nutral sat with nutrals, Alves and Drogba were awful. Main difference, when Alves was on his feet he contributed far more to the attack the Drogba.

Cech had a good game, if it wasn't for him Chelsea would be returning to Stamford Bridge 2-0 down. As for his 'flapping', did it once maybe twice when he could have caught it, but he pushed into safety regardless so I don't know why such a big deal is being made of it. One thing that I'm sure Chelsea fans didn't like, was his constant goal kicks aiming for Drogba, most of the time wasting possession. That, and the long balls from defence stopped the midfield from having any impact on the game. Lampard didn't touch the ball for about 30 minutes at one stage in the game, not his fault but a result of the tactics. Tactics that got them the result Chelsea wanted. Job done. Only neutrals will complain about the 'poor' football but if you follow the team and it gets you a stride further into the Champions League final who cares what the neutral thinks.

Do you not remember the middle of the season when clubs kept coming to Stamford bridge and playing 4-5-1, parking the bus infront of the goal?

Tottenham did it as did Everton the other day. It's not only chelsEA who do it...

I'm guessing Cech was instructed to play the long ball by Hiddink, hardly his decision.

I've never said that it is unusual for teams to play defensivly and try and shut a team out. Manchester United do this better then most.

Premier League sucks :p
They attack attack attack in Spain :p

Nahh, Chelsea got a good result at the camp, was far from a good or convincing result. I think it might have made more problems for Chelski then they think.

They've got it all to do at home, they will attack, leaving space for Barca to lap up, and if they do and Barca score just once... well :(

Probably because Barcelona actually attacked.

I really didn't like that about the Russian mafia tonight.
Negative football :(
Erugh.

Tactical god Hiddink ey !
Put 11 men behind the ball, defend, don't attack and end up with a "priceless" goalless game away at Barca, putting way more pressure on you next time round.

says the jizz lobber with 'Macheda is the next messiah' in his sig

how ironic some ppl are w/out even realising it.

lol . I had this in my signature before Macheda had even played for the senior side thank you, and 100% goals to games in the league makes it justified ;).

My point was, people were going on and on and on and on and on about Messi, I was one of the few that said he'd do nothing more than he did against Man Utd and it was a carbon copy performance. Went nowhere, slack passes and no penetration. But people have conveniently not brought it up. Not one person seems to have mentioned how poor he was post match.

Well we obviously have totally different views on football then, i personally think Drogba's the best power forward in the world!
