UEFA Euro 2012 - Group C - ** spoilers ** (Croatia, Italy, Rep Ireland, Spain)

How are Italy ahead of Croatia? Because of goals scored against Spain?

My mind is about to explode!

Croatia's goals against Ireland won't count.

Yep.

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order)

a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question
c) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question
d) superior goal difference from all group matches played
e) higher number of goals scored
f) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons

After seeing the replay - that was a great tackle.

Only reason he didn't have a broken ankle was because he pulled out. You never go studs up off the ground across another players foot.

Definitely a penalty and at least a yellow. Completely reckless and would be punished as such even in the EPL.

Croatia Spain not a great half to watch... It was a penalty as it was a very nasty challenge

Torres plays with so much more confidence ! It's so obvious seing his body language

You never go studs up off the ground across another player's foot...how do you propose he makes a tackle then? Handstand then inner sole?

There is no such law. Besides which he goes straight through the ball and if the other player happens to kick your tackling foot, then that's their problem. Alan Hansen is right.

I think Croatia need a goal, they will I think go through along with Spain if this match finishes 1-1 as long as Italy don't go on a scoring spree.

Cool. I'll studs up across everyone and it'll become a game of chicken. He had to tackle much earlier or go for a block.
