UEFA Euro 2012 - Group D - ** spoilers ** (England, France, Sweden, Ukraine)

The Republic of Ireland, whilst being part of the British Isles, is a completely separate Country to Great Britain. It has it's own military, it's currency and everything.

Northern Ireland isn't even part of Great Britain, let alone the Republic. Plus, don't BBC Scotland and BBC Wales show their own countries games anyway?

More of a general statement, it doesn't actually matter which of the home nations are playing, the talk is typically england based regardless of how many home nations are representing at world or european finals level.

Typically its sky that has the majority of international fixtures, for some time though the bbc or itv would show the england matches regardless of where in the country you were and whether your home nation was playing. I think bbc scotland only seem to show about two or three national games a year. Due to the unique way the bbc is funded, if its not england, we're not going to show it ;)
