Spain in the earlier games have been pretty uninspiring to watch, effective certainly but apparently more concerned with not losing than actually winning. Tonight however they were great and that's what will probably be remembered regardless of any of the build up games.
Well done to Spain, clearly the better team on the night and if they'd played like that all through there would be no accusations of them playing boring football. I couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for Italy though, the team just looked a bit flat from the start with Chiellini seeming to be off the pace even before his injury, Thiago Motta managing a whole 4 minutes before getting stretchered off and the team having to play the rest of the game with 10 men.
