UEFA Euro 2012 - The Final - ** spoilers **

Just insane stats from this Spain squad.
Brilliant performance tonight just went out there and dominated them today. Italy were unfortunate mind with Cellinini going off so early and then ending up with Motta pulling a hamstring. Overall best team won on the night and did it in style.

Well done to Spain, clearly the better team on the night and if they'd played like that all through there would be no accusations of them playing boring football. I couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for Italy though, the team just looked a bit flat from the start with Chiellini seeming to be off the pace even before his injury, Thiago Motta managing a whole 4 minutes before getting stretchered off and the team having to play the rest of the game with 10 men.

Yep. Italy seemed to blow their load against Germany and looked a shadow of the team that drew with Spain in the group game when they had Spain on the back foot for large swathes. At the start of the 2nd half I thought Di Natalie might be able to get them back in and make things interesting and we'd have a game, but as soon as they lost Motta then both sides knew it was over and it became an absurdly easy training exercise for Spain. The last few minutes I think Italy were only on the pitch in body, in mind they were already on the flight home.

Could have been a different final if Portugal had someone else drawing up their penalty-takers sheet and Germany hadn't failed to turn up as much as Italy did tonight.
 
Sure the BBC played this dodgy version of Thriller at the end of the footy a few weeks ago?

It's not as good as that slowed up Linkin park one from when England got knocked out :p
 
What have they done to Thriller?

I turned the telly off before platini started his hamfisted attempt at making the tournament about him instead of the football.
