And really, it's not hard to see why. Watching England is an exercise in frustration.
Their biggest problem, as I see it, is this. They have three modes of play.
1. Aimless balls from back to front, 90% unsuccessful.
2. Give to speedy players to run, headless chicken style, up the pitch until they lose the ball.
3. Ponderous, slow, side-to-side and backwards passing. So unimaginative that the opposition knows every pass they'll make, because it's always the easiest, lowest risk, least productive pass. Runs are ignored in favour of going backwards. Players are terrified of the balls. We're ***** if the ball is in the air, too. England players must be taught that just getting your head on it is all that's required.
Engerland lack creativity, vision, flair. They are predictable, obvious, slow, boring, and for all their possession they give the ball away continually every 2nd pass.
And that's why (among other reasons) they are *****, and Wales are #1 in the group.
