France lost some key players to suspensions, so if we make it past Iceland, we have hope.

In fairness, nobody wants to see a team progress by defending, defending, defending.

Doesn't everyone hate Mourinho style defensive walls?

France deservedly through, they were pounding away on the Irish all the way through the 2nd half.

When that happens the likelihood is always that the defence at some point concedes. I've not seen too many teams successfully defend their way to victory, and when it does happen it's often incredibly dull to watch.
 
ROI did very well indeed, but really should have buried one of the chances for 2-0 and then it would have been a very different game.

France could have won by a few in the end, but full respect to Ireland who left everything out on the field

You could also argue that if they'd been given that blatant corner it would have been a different game too. C'est la vie.
 
Is the Slovakian player with the blue band across his nose the one that ended up with blood pouring out of his nose in the last match?

I remember the corner you are talking about and yes it was blatant, but what % of corners are scored from - pure guess, but I would suggest its pretty small.

Going 2-0 up when (comparatively) France were visibly struggling, RoI would have probably gone on to win.
 
Yeah i didn't mean that they would have scored i meant that the few minutes after that which changed the whole game wouldn't have played out like they did. Although, if they hadn't France may well have gone on to score completely different goals anyway :p
