To be fair to us, Slovakia haven't just parked the bus against Germany, they've tried to play for the win. That makes Germany task in breaking them down a rather different proposition than we faced.

Forgive me, but this just sound like excuses.

Germany would have beat them in the group stage too, had they had our group.

Its not really, Slovakia played for a draw then, they have to attempt to win today. TBH England would make their life easier like Germany do by scoring early - its stops teams just forever defending which will naturally lead to further chances. No one is actually saying we are as good as Germany, more that how Slovakia played today would have suited us much better...

It seems Roy thinks if we havent conceded we are doing well...

How has the second half been? Kinda got distracted

OT: Belgium lineup for me is their strongest, though FFS grow some full backs...

Yar. The weak half of the table is really weak.

Shame, because the final is likely to be a complete anti-climax.

It'll be someone like Germany vs Portugal or Belgium, and it could be no contest at all.
 
Hazard's just woken up in spectacular fashion.

Croatia and Portugal were both disappointing, Wales were awful, France only woke up in the second half but Germany and Belgium look the real deal.
 
Today's matches have been good, yesterday's weren't. I still can't believe how people think England would do better in the top half of the draw - we would lose to Belgium as we will to France - just better teams/squads who aren't playing as bad as England this tournament.

Look at the teams now who mass defended in the group stages. They are getting found out and taken apart now they have to play in the knock out.
 
Just listening to the England players in their press conferences makes my blood boil. "We dominated all the games, we're so great, etc".

We've had loads of possession and been rubbish otherwise. Pathetic.
