Edit: Just checked the France squad and there's only 2 players with more than 10 goals there: Giroud and Griezmann. Nothing ridiculous about Portugal's squad.

Edit: Just checked the France squad and there's only 2 players with more than 10 goals there: Giroud and Griezmann. Nothing ridiculous about Portugal's squad.

Perhaps it's more the lack of contribution from midfield. Portgual's squad has 8 midfielders who have 7 international goals between them, 5 of those goals from people who haven't really played! Compare that to 26 goals from the 7 French midfielders. Twenty one of those from the starting midfielders. Portugal place a lot of pressure on their front two to score the goals.
