Probably needs to move to a champions league team so that he can really develop to the fullest
The best place for him to develop right now is Arsenal, unfortunately. I really like him and hoped he'd not sign a new deal with them last summer but it was for the best for him. He's still very young and playing week in week out is what he needs, rather than going to a side where he'll be in and out of the side.

In a couple of seasons, if Arsenal aren't back in and around the top 4 spots he'll be gone though.

Very pragmatic again.

I’m glad Southgate isn’t pandering to the ‘more goals lol’ brigade. Being boring is how you make sure you don’t lose.
And when France/Germany hammer us?

Scoring more than the opposition is ultimately how you win :p

In the knockout phases, you can't just go for clean sheets.

If we’re not in the champions league in the next two years, I wouldn’t blame him tbh. Far too good to be scrabbling around mid table and europa league.

On the money.

Hence balance. No point scoring 5 goals if you concede 6.

I wonder why Leeds haven’t won the league?

What balance? Where? Any time the ball went near our defence we looked terrible. Likewise, our sole striker playing as a holding midfielder for the first 20 mins of the game.

To be honest I've seen very little evidence that we can put a decent attack together. So unless we're planning on winning every game on penalties.

Are we going to pass backwards to victory? :p

We had moments of it, until Kane got involved then play went dead... strangely enough there were a couple of moments where he picked up the tempo/took a bit of risk and it nearly paid off - if like the commentators were saying players did run into the space forward when it opened up even if the team wasn't ready we'd look like a completely different side.
