It's job done for Southgate since we got out of the group and will likely get knocked out by France/Germany/Portugal in the next round and with expectations of beating any of these teams low he can have a nice long summer holiday and will almost certainly keep his job for the World Cup now.

Depressing isn't it? But then who would we get instead? Anyone remember the miserably days of Capello?

I think Lampard is a very average manager currently and I would happily take him over Southgate. How he has the England job is beyond me.

I agree , Southgate is well out of his depth.

We have some of the best attacking talent in Europe , yet our attacks look very stagnant and predictable.

So if England had finished 2nd we would have got Spain, at least with winning the group we have home advantage against similar quality opposition. Now need to make the good 20mins into 90mins.

Everyone getting excited over our side of the draw

We should have been beat by scotland and had one of the easier groups i dont know why people think we would be favourites

No team in our side of the draw is going to be "easy" for england

The draw if nobody wants to open a new tab, at a glance.

Wales vs Denmark
Italy vs Austria
Netherlands vs Czech Republic
Belgium vs Portugal
Croatia vs Spain
France vs Switzerland
England vs Germany
Sweden vs Ukraine

No one is getting excited but it’s a fact, our side of the draw is easier that’s undeniable.

Wed be favourites against every team in the draw and that is also a fact. 5/4 to beat Germany.

How did the easier draw work out against Iceland?

Doesn't matter who we play Gareth will have us playing rubbish backwards football and not sure how we could be installed as favourites against anyone in the last 16 with recent performances.

Many people have mentioned it but we look so similar to Greece in 2004, hoping for a lucky chance rather than creating pressure and forcing the issue
