Will be tough tonight, that draw with Scotland makes me worried for England
Aye. And Schmeichel knows our front line well and will be drilling his defenders accordingly. They seem to know how to run a tight ship. Did you see Kjaer in that last match? Doing a limping hero routine for the last chunk and still putting in the blocks when it mattered.

I am no great fan of Southgate and it was hard work early on, however, momentum is building now and we do have a very good squad.

Denmark are a good team, but they are more like a mid-table Premier League side, where as England are more of a top 8 Champion's League team.

Of course, as we know in the PL, any team can beat any team, but there are reasons for optimism. Beating Germany will have removed a significant mental block, and we look fairly robust defensively.

We can swap out the entire midfield and attack and should still be able to beat not only Denmark, but probably Italy.

Far from any guarantees, of course...

If any comparison could be made, Denmark are like the Leicester of the Premier League, not just saying because of Schmeichel, however the odds back in 92, were probably the same as when we won the league. :D

Really? We've moved on significantly since that game, still unbeaten, no goals conceded which is a first for us.

Yeah they are in for a war tonight no doubt. Wont see a 4 - 0 beatdown again lol

It still saddens me Roy didn't take a Leicester spine to the 2016 tournie. Vardy went but wasn't really used properly. Add in Drinkwater, Albrighton, Simpson they were all in sync, in their prime, and able to do the incisive through pass to Vardy on the break like they'd done all season to great effect. I think we'd have done better if Roy had adapted squad and tactics to those in form vs his misfiring clique. Still what's done is done. We could, and arguably should, have done so much better though in 2016. Never going to forget that euphoric PL title win though. Still makes me grin now. :D

England being way overhyped in the media. This never ends well.

Have newspapers learned nothing?

One "headline" today...

LIONS ROAR Harry Kane roars "I'm unstoppable" in warning to Danes ahead of tonight's semi

Did he, really?

Did he roar, did he actually say that?

Easy one for the Danish manager to show his players if they needed any more motivation.

Stuff like that really pees me off. Grow up tabloids. Mind you so much of their target audience laps up that kind of nonsense that it's a bit chicken and egg. They write like that because it sells to their audience, who think like they do because that's what they read and expose themselves to.

Maybe its best we lose.

Tooo many self rightous people in england in general.

We will never hear the end of it if somehow england do win this championship.

If we do win it, i hope the main papers have Sterling on the front page lifting the trophy

I have often felt the same. To watch the thuggish louts crying when they lose has always made me feel the pain was worth it. The arrogance and xenophobia of the average white van/lager lout fan out this way does make me kind of hope England never win anything ever again. Ditto Chelsea, for the same reason, but the odds of that are lower. 2015-2016 was a happy season for me though in that respect.

So if we win I'm happy as an England fan, and if we lose, well it's not the end of the world to me and beer-gut mr-R-sole "En ge land rule and should auto win all tournaments ever and shut it if you don't like it, I'll break yer face", can sob into his stella before going home in a rage and getting yet more speeding tickets en route, and possibly breaking something once he gets home because that's all he knows how to do.

(I used to live next door to a chap who'd beat his mrs when Chelsea lost so I'm rather sensitive to this kind of thing. Getting out of that flat was a real God-send...)

To be honest, if we win, I'm happy. If we lose, I'm happy.

Win/win as far as I'm concerned.

yup and players like sterling will get abused outside of a game but praised as the second coming whenever he scored for england or even the club they support.

shocking really.

England as a whole as gone backwards over the last 10 years

Imagine being this triggered by international football because of a small minority of fans who take the national pride thing a bit too far.

Newsflash, the Italians have won plenty and they have some of the worst football hooligans and nationalists on the planet.

What the hell is this all about. You absolute weirdos, you must have a pretty depressing view of reality that you are a football fan yet want your own national team to lose because how it'll make some other people feel.

Ooh have we touched a nerve? Read the posts - I'm happy if we win, and if we don't, well it's not my religion and I won't be devasted like the less savoury elements of our "supporters" I encounter round these parts.

It really hasn't, we have just been bombarded with ******** in the media about how horrible the country is and everyone on twitter saying that everyone is racist, sexist and a transphobe.

We are just a country of self loathing. Most countries are proud of their nationality and have the slight amount of intelligence to understand that nowhere is perfect but that doesn't mean you can't have pride in your country without being a xenophobic oik.

There doesn't seem to be much middle ground anymore.

I think it's difficult to argue that some football fans take it beyond pride and become nationalistic instead. That's a problem with English 'patriotism' in general though. Not always the case of course, but it's certainly always been very prevalent.
