Quite unbelievable we've got all the way to the euros and Southgates excuses are that Trent in midfield is an 'experiment' when we have 3 natural midfielders on the bench and his main excuse is we have no one to replace Kelvin Phillips.

League 2 manager.

I'm not sure I understand that comment, England's performance was utterly abject this evening the only plus point was they didn't get beat the players should expect to be boo'd off after that they are more than happy to take the compliments and cheers when they play well...
It's a football festival, just get behind them and actually support them. No wonder they're looking terrified on the pitch, in front of that baying mob.

TAA has been hung out to dry by him, him and walker are comparable at RB and walker is getting the nod, but safegate doesn’t have the balls to drop either. The team is unbalanced (no play down the left ) and there is no outlet because Kane keeps dropping deep looking for the ball, which then causes him to get in Bellingham’s way and step on his toes.
This team would go a lot further if he rotated walker and TAA, dropped Bellingham next to rice, move Fodden behind Kane/Watkins(Watkins would be my choice) and put Gordon/Eze on the left. That would give much better balance and an outlet down both sides, but it more likely that the only change for Tuesday will be Gallagher for Trent(if he doesn’t keep the same team)
Totally agree fella. He's just shoehorning players in. If he doesn't think Foden and Bellingham can play together (most think they can though) then rotate them. He does it with the strikers, why not with others? Its just baffling that almost half of that team has won the champions league since England's last tournament yet they look absolutely lost and move around like they are hungover.
Kane is a funny one mind, he's not looked in it but if you are chasing a goal then there's no one else you'd want the ball to fall to.

Rice is much better than Philips as the furthest midfielder back, Mainoo is probably better than Galagher at it too. He can have Bellingham as the 8 then and stop playing Foden on the wing. Just with those changes the team would have better balance. None of the teams are mugs at this level so experimenting now when he's had countless friendlies to do it is ridiculous.

And that, if it is an experiment, he barely did it in the qualifiers or warm up matches, which is when he should be experimenting

Exactly, no time for "experimenting" in a major tournament. Surly after that performance, anyone else would shake up the whole team. He has to change something, but this is Gareth we are taking about. At least with the next game the pressure is off as in what the result is, so a big change could be feasible. He can see there are major issues, so if he has any sense then at least 3 changes are needed. Open to suggestions on what that should be.

Baying mob, lol. There was plenty of support during the game particularly early on but by the end of the 90 minutes that good feeling had ebbed away on the back of an atrocious 90 minutes. Blaming the fans is hilarious these players play away from home every other week in front of ‘baying mobs’ and manage to perform. If they play well they and give their all the England fans won’t boo them off hopefully they will find some motivation to prove to those fans it was worth the trip to watch them next time out!

To be fair, how else would you play if you don't have 2 DMs. Its simply impossible. Southgate is just a ***** manager. Its that simple. How he got the job is absolutely beyond me. As others have said I assume its because he is just a blank human being. Hes safe. He won't do anything to cause waves. Won't say the wrong thing or cause any problems. Because thats what you want. A nice, boring, vanilla manager who is **** but hard to really dislike because there is so little to him.

Southgate has gone full Helga from Hey Arnold with Kalvin Phillips. Has his shrine in the closet that he goes and mastubates in when he feels a loss is due to no Phillips.

Yep this is the problem, he doesn't have the bulls to drop certain players, I think Foden plays on the right for Man City? so drop either Saka or Foden, and bring one on later as an impact sub.
Same for any other position, play the players where they play best for their clubs.

Its almost like they have something in there England contracts where some players have to play no matter what, lol.

I don't see how the pressure is off. Far from it. A win last night would have ensured we won the group with a game to spare. It is possible for England to still finish third, although unlikely. Finishing second sets up a knock out game against group A winner, which unless there's a miracle will be Germany.

It's really not universal.

Its not, most of the big teams supporters are far more fickle and brutal than England fans.

Its not the fans fault. They support the team. These players get dogs abuse every week from opposition fans. They can handle being booed at the end of a game or the fans getting a bit restless. They aren't breaking down on the international stage because of the fans hurting their feelings or scaring them.

They are breaking down because our manager is a clown and we still don't really have a footballing identity as a nation so its harder to get a tune from the players as a unit.

Yes, but we didn't win. We are all but qualified, so I would say the pressure is off. It's not a must win match, so a chance to change things would be a option. It doesn't matter who we meet in the next round as we are going to struggle anyway.

I really don't get it, if they play well and give it there all they get cheered if they play ok they get a round of applause and if the play like donkeys they get boo'd it's pretty simple and reasonably universal in football.
It's not universal at all, especially in tournament football - maybe after a heavy defeat. Rather than heavy defeat, England fans boo the players off the pitch when they haven't even lost the game. The players were getting dog's abuse on social media during the last tournament when they made it to the final.

The fans are brutal, you'd struggle to identify a worse lot in world football.

kyle walker? It's tough when you come to these grounds, hostile environments

didnt know it was Denmarks home game ? crap excuse the premiere league away games are harsher

Lmao, what is he on about. This is a team full of people that have played at various English cauldrons and not to mention the guys who’ve played in the Champions League. But a game at a neutral ground rattles them? Absolute bs.

To be honest, if I had travelled to the Euro's to watch England play that badly, I would have joined in with the hate. They all deserve a kick up the arse, no excuses. They are professional footballers, but at the moment far from it.

This is a major competition for god's sake, playing in this should be a players dream and what they strive for. To give their all on the pitch and wear the 3 lions with pride, but yet to see it. When you look at any other team so far no matter what team, you see pride, passion and determination. I see nothing from England. Something is drastically wrong in the dressing room.
