Not good enough. You want the only ex England manager with a 100% win record.

Let’s face it if players weren’t doing what Klopp or Pep wanted they’d be going absolutely ballistic on the touchline yet every time it pans to Southgate he’s just standing there with a puzzled expression looking lost. These are professional players - that are good enough to cope with playing slightly out of position.
If the manager has a strategy - and he tells a player such as Foden that he wants him to stay out wide a bit more, and to cut in a bit less - I believe Foden is good enough to be able to play in that way... as is the rest of the squad.
I have a feeling that the England managerial problem is that our managers are not prepared to tell their star players "you are not doing what I asked. If you don't do it, you won't play".
This is the Southgate problem, the Erickson problem with Lamps/Gerard.
Instead of having strong leadership from the manager, and the captain - England seem to have this idea of having a "group of players" as leaders.
This me mentality needs to change. Players need to be told what's expected of them.
It's still perfectly fine to deviate from that plan occasionally on pitch - that's how you outwit the opposition.

Or he’s more calm and measured with his approach. Nothing wrong with either approach both can work.Exactly - which either makes he think he's to soft, or that the team is doing as per his plan.
Both are not good
Another day and another Soutgate excuse. The players arent in a good enough condition to carry out his strategy apparently.
At least he isnt going to survive this tournament - but presumably the FA have already lined up someone suitably beige enough to take over such as Potter.
Exactly, German players have played the most minutes of any nationality, I think I read. Don’t see any performance issues there. Southgate is a joke.
Indeed. Excuses have already started...
Why are all the other teams/players fit enough then, but we aren't?

What? First off we're trying to get to the final, we've done that before. We are trying to do something that has never been done before [win the Euros]

Tired my backside, they're professional athletes, other teams haven't been sat around on sunloungers for three months just waiting for the Euros.
He should go into politics.

That indicates nothing to do with energy and everything to do with the manager not clarifying the tactics.England captain Kane admitted after the game that the team were "not sure how to get the pressure on and who’s supposed to be [pressing]".

And a midfield of world superstars that were outplayed by a bloke who basically died in the last tournament. Its unbeleiveable that seemingly we have turned up at a major tournament with - a team that doesnt understand what they are supposed to be doing, various players out of position, "experimenting" with a player in a pivotal position and at least 1 player in the squad - again in a key position, who has zero chance of being match fit.
Apparently Southgate’s nickname when he was at Crystal Palace was Nord as he spoke in a soft direct manner like Dennis Norden.
Think we should revive this nickname as he makes most of us Nord off when England play
