Uefa retract Eduardo ban

The correct decision would have been to have awarded him a retrospective yellow card. UEFA got it wrong when they said they would not use the rule to punish any other players and realised they would face legal action over it. McGeady wasnt sent off for diving he was send off for 2 bookable offences. Still in the end it sends out the message to divers that its worth a chance you might get a yellow but you wont get banned. Poor show from UEFA.

How about this for a suggestion.

If a player is seen to be diving but it goes unpunished, they are issued with exactly what they would have got during the game - a yellow card.

It might not sound like much, but hear me out. The card tallies onto the amount needed for a one-game ban; can't remember what it is, 5 maybe?

If the player in question already had a yellow that match, it is treated like they got a red and they are given a suitable suspension for getting sent off.

It just seems the only way to both punish divers and keep the game fair.

That's a sensible idea but I reckon UEFA or in domestic football the FA would find a way to **** even that up! :p

Anyway, I'm outta this thread too, I've made my opinion a bit earlier on and I've listened to everyone elses and the general consensus is that Eduardo dived and it's gone unpunished by the authorities. The end in my book.
