Theres a very slight argument that say if Spain were built around Xavi, and right before the tourney he decided not to play then the team would have a massive hole, but thats not really the case here.
To be honest not sure how involved WIlshire/Carroll were, but Wilshire is a great midfielder.
But its classic English football and the thing that wound me up no end in the EPL in the last couple years, sideways boring passing. Very few players, even around the box, were willing to look rubbish by failing a neat pass behind the defence to someone, but instead would get the ball and pass back to the central midfielders, who themselves would pass sideways constantly.
Muamba, such utter utter turd, he's ackward on the ball, constantly gets caught with ball at his feet trying to turn to make a sideways pass and getting it stuck under his feet, his passing is turd.
So much wasted posession, not enough real quality, defensively not even close to a cohesive unit. Offensively not even close to set up right.
Seriously, stop hiring club managers at senior and under 21 level, bring in ex successful international footballers, its a different skill set, its a different style, its a different mentality, its a VERY different build up to games/tourney's.
