UEFA Under-21s European Championship

looked much better when Cleverley moved inside, actually started to play the ball in the middle. Our midfield has been disappointing this tournament.

Game over. A bit annoying as the czechs sat back for 90% of the game. Our midfield was pants though. Even when there was no pressure muamba (who is awful) and co were struggling to pass it between themselves.

Pearce really ballsed that up hugely. He's been crap all tournament, wrong selections wrong tactics but tonight took the biscuit.

Why, when dominating 4-3-3 and finally looking comfortable on the ball in the centre, would you switch to 4-4-2 and open things up in the middle?

The players, including those 'too tired' to turn up and the coaching staff need to look at themselves and ask some questions.

I think it was like the 88th min was 1-0 switched over to Golf turned back just there and they lost! What the hell happened!?

Pearce really has come across as clueless through this tournament, he may have great motivational skills but he has no tactical ability whatsoever

Theres a very slight argument that say if Spain were built around Xavi, and right before the tourney he decided not to play then the team would have a massive hole, but thats not really the case here.

To be honest not sure how involved WIlshire/Carroll were, but Wilshire is a great midfielder.

But its classic English football and the thing that wound me up no end in the EPL in the last couple years, sideways boring passing. Very few players, even around the box, were willing to look rubbish by failing a neat pass behind the defence to someone, but instead would get the ball and pass back to the central midfielders, who themselves would pass sideways constantly.

Muamba, such utter utter turd, he's ackward on the ball, constantly gets caught with ball at his feet trying to turn to make a sideways pass and getting it stuck under his feet, his passing is turd.

So much wasted posession, not enough real quality, defensively not even close to a cohesive unit. Offensively not even close to set up right.

Seriously, stop hiring club managers at senior and under 21 level, bring in ex successful international footballers, its a different skill set, its a different style, its a different mentality, its a VERY different build up to games/tourney's.

Wow, this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard from you DM. Very few of the best footballers go on to become successful managers - often the very best coaches and managers were previously rather mediocre players.

This.

Henderson & Rodwell especially have been **** poor

England's best performers by far Welbeck, Jones and Smalling

wow, that was harsh. Two late goals. Can't say England deserved to go through though, played horrible in all 3 games. I really hate the style of English football. Do they not teach them how to hold the ball or do they just learn how to hoof it up the pitch and hope for the best?
