Since when have any of those developers said the kits were "a dream" to work on?So if Sony's Dev Kit's are to blame, how come other dev's (Incognito, Infinity Ward, Naughty Dog etc.) are saying what an absolute dream it is to work on? - And there games turn out flawless.
And it pretty much is only EA who are putting out the poor games now, I can't think of any others.
Can't even be bothered to write a proper reply.... so much ****.I don't believe that at all. The 360 is basically a windows PC in a box, it's hardly like developing for 2 separate platforms. Valve took the easy way out by outsourcing and they knew what to expect of EA, Valve obviously had no intention of retaining any kind of quality of the orange box on ps3. They just wanted to get the title out in the cheapest way possible and watch those $$$ come rolling in...
I love how every time a PS3 ports sucks, people bring CoD4 up. The CoD4 engine was built with the PS3 in mind, the Source engine was built before both the 360 and PS3 even existed. If call of duty 4 looks and runs fantastic I see no reason why other devs can't achieve the same results.
Also, even with that in mind, the 360 version is said to be the slightly better of the 2 from comments i have read. Certainly not enough to make any real difference though.
There are LOADS of dev's that have expressed difficulty in programming for the PS3. Just because it CAN be done, doesn't mean it is easy. Why spend so much extra time coding for the PS3 over the 360 when the install base is less than half?Name one dev who is struggling with the PS3 other than EA?
Like Gabe said, learning to program well for the PS3 is currently a waste of time because none of the skills are transferable.
Are you serious?Trouble is, once MS gains the monopoly it wants of the serious consoles, it will then turn its attention to Nintendo. How long before we see a handheld Xbox that competes with the DS? How long before MS starts putting pressure on Nintendo's suppliers to develop games for them instead? How long before Nintendo are reduced to the same status as Sega, a mere games-maker instead of the mighty console manufacturer it once was?
Sony, with the full weight of the Playstation brand behind it couldn't compete with Nintendo in the handheld market. MS with pretty much Zero mass market brand recognition in the console market have no hope at the moment.
MS also have no hope of stopping 3rd party devs putting games on other systems. if this were the case, Sony would have done it a long time ago.... what with having 120m PS2s out there!
