Uh-oh. PS3 'Orange Box' fails.

That is the most bizarre logic I have ever heard which seems to equate to "rumours are true unless proven otherwise". (bearing in mind the rumour he is refering to is that GTA IV is delayed becasue fo development issues on the ps3, nothing to do with this Orange Box thread"

Perhaps a new "I heard a rumour about ps3/360 that is not based on fact" and all the conjecture can go in there.?

I do dislike the term troll though it seems to get bandied about as often as fanboy recently. Surely you have never been shown the "troll card" by others in a thread Mr Men :D (joke I swear!!)

Surely nobody believes Xbox 360 was the lead platform for GTAIV??? Rockstar made an absolute fortune on PS2/PSP and when development started on GTAIV (3/4 years ago?) nobody believed PS3 would be anything less than the most successful console?

The fact that the game has been delayed despite a £50 million payoff from MS makes it overwhelmingly likely that the Xbox360 version is the problem.

The PS3 guaranteed hard drive would more than make up for any lack of streaming speed, although I highly doubt that's an issue.

I don't think it is.. it seems representative of the populous,

The simple fact is the PS3 is underperforming in some key areas, rightly or wrongly some developers are struggling with it, as is being seen in some of these 'ports'.. it was late to market, and it's plagued with 'delays'..

Just look at the two biggest complaints against it, Lack of games and poor ports, you can argue semantics and statistics until you are blu (sic) in the face, but those are the main reasons sales are suffering...

What are we supposed to do, pretend it's the all rosey and not complain?

And the 360 has and will have more HDD only games, they can use the same 'techniques'.. although if this is done by every game developer, you'll run out of HDD space very quickly on both consoles..

How are sales suffering? It's doing relatively better than the PS1 and PS2 and they didn't do so bad. The fact is people here are completely unrepresentative of the population. There are over 100 million Ps2 owners who have yet to buy a 'next gen' console.

What, you mean to say that Gabe Newell not only didn't realise that EA would do a **** poor job of porting a 360 game to the ps3, but that he engineered for it to happen? Controversy!! ;)

Okay, it's trolling.... IF trolling is pointing out obvious flaws. PS3 so far has done all the negative publicity all by itself.
I take the word of my friends as they have no reason to lie, they don't need to try and sound good by saying stuff, they don't act like kids (like a lot of people on here) and it's not like it's hear-say. They're all in the industry so they know a whole lot more than you, or even me for that matter.

But I'm hardly trolling by reporting back what's happening. Of course, as I've said, a lot of people are happy putting fingers in their ears and ignoring the obvious.

The payment if for additional content, nothing more. The delay is down to a contract between Rockstar and Sony and Rockstar and Microsoft which have a contract stating it will have a simultaneous release on both formats, so whether or not the Xbox360 version is complete (which is likely) then it couldn't be released until the PS3 one is finished.

And for your information, it's not PS3 bashing, it's what I've heard from two VERY good friends of mine (both of who have very good friends AT Rockstar).

Really? Because the difference in sales for EA's Sports range between last year and this year on PS2 in comparison to sales of Xbox360 and Xbox360 of comparitive years, the massive decrease in sales for PS2 (well over 100 million less sales on PS2 IIRC) and massive increase in sales for Xbox360 (over 100 million IIRC) then statistics would apparently show a lot of those "100 million owners" (a comment originally made over 12 months ago.. I mean, let's be honest, some of those will have moved on :rolleyes:) will have purchased a new console.
