Yeah thats what i thought i checked on the nildram login to see my exchange it was clogged to hell and on red , and the notice due for upgrade on "date" blah blah. I phoned Nildram also to see if they could take a look and said BT are on it etc... it did nothing for me in the end. Ukfsn were rated via this forum so i joined them , its been clear for the past month.

no issues
what do u think of UKfsn now are they throttleing your p2p what is  the service like ?

there not throttling p2p just slowing down general speeds at off-peak times. There still brilliant!
which you can live with ,unlike Nildram who are slowing down off peeks and throttling down ....

Another good thing about UKFSN, I was able to move my mysql database over before I was even migrated over, which apparently has unlimited bandwidth.

Had a few problems along the way though, meaning I had to do a complete re-install of phpBB, link should be in sig if you want a peek.

:/ and now the guys from the guild don't feel like registering again. :o

Hey all,

I've got a question about speeds on UKFSN...

I migrated yesterday, and all seems fine, but, I'm still on exactly the same speeds as AOL (512kbps down, 256kbps up), even though our line is capable (from signal to noise, attenuation figures etc) of faster, and has been on faster speeds in the past.

What should I do about this? Do I need to wait, or contact them?

Thanks to all help. :)

Id e-mail support as it sounds like they havn't put you on MAX.

I migrated from 2mb to ukfsn 8mb and i am still on 2mb speeds,i emailed and also got some replys on these forums about it taking 10 days when migrating to max befor you will start getting upto 8mb

Well weird that, thought mine was shagged today, i couldnt get over 2mb even though all pipes were green and 7.2mb, so went to ThinkBB and read a thread of ppl saying the same thing who are on Tele 2, seems like it sticks you to the 2mb throttle even though the pipes now at maxed  , you have to disconnect and re-connect so you get on a diff pipe, just done that here and bam straight on to Tele 1 with my speeds fully 6mb again. :D

I get my ADSL MAX UKFSN activated on monday! Can't wait! :D

How do I check if interleaving is switched on, on my line?

And what is interleaving :p

Interleaving is part of DLM and is a method used to maintain stability of the line if errors occur. In short it helps maintain service if your line develops issues. If interleaving is used it will increase your ping round trip time by 20ms-40ms. This is a setting made on the line card profile on the BT ADSL equipment at your local exchange.

This profile can use one of three options:
AUTO: The line will run in "FAST mode" (interleaving off) unless it sees an issue and will opt to Interleave to try and keep the service going. If your line then stabilizes the line card profile it will then switch back to fast mode automatically.
ON: The line will run with interleaving on all the time.
OFF: The line will run permanently in "FAST Mode" and will be unable to apply interleaving to maintain the service if errors should occur.

Bit of a pain to do, especially I seem to get a slow transfer rate on small files. I suppose this will have to do, for now.

Gracias iBot.

I know :( I assume Jason will eventually code it in to the members section.

Maybe change ftp clients?

The centrals will take an absolute battering this weekend seen as theres only 2x working, they down to about 2mb already and its not even 10pm yet as Telehouse 2 is buggered, a BT balancing prob, so everyone who is on Telehouse 2 is still throttled to 2mb regardless of wether it says Green 7.2mb, been happening to me past couple of days, everytime i have logged on, and been on Telehouse 2 ive been stuck at about 2mb, you have to disconnect and reconnect onto a different pipe, either Global Switch 1, or Telehouse 1 to get proper speeds, and what with everyone going to be doing that rather than be stuck at 2mb on Telehouse 2 all the time i can see both working centrals doomed this weekend. :(

Doomed already, both Telehouse 1 and GlobalSwitch 1 both BLACK, oh dear :o
